Richardson Elementary
May 4th, 2025
Greetings Richardson Families,
This week, our Kindergarten students reminded us of an important message: every day should be Earth Day! They helped clean up the school field —thank you, Kindergarteners, for taking care of our planet and our community.
Just like caring for the Earth, every day is a great day to connect as a community. We're thrilled to invite you to our upcoming Family Dance on Friday, May 9th, sponsored by our amazing PTA and ML Team. It's a fun, family-friendly evening filled with music, joy, and togetherness. See the flier below and RSVP today—we’d love to see you there!
Next week also marks Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5–9)! Our PTA is spreading the love all month long, because we believe that every day is the perfect day to show gratitude to the incredible educators and staff who make our school a special place. I feel lucky each day to work alongside such a dedicated, compassionate, and talented team.
Looking for simple, no-cost ways to show appreciation? Here are a few ideas:
-
Write a thank-you note or have your child draw a picture
-
Share a kind email or message
-
Lend a hand as a classroom volunteer or help with a school event
-
Encourage your child to say “thank you” and share what they love about their teacher
Together, let’s keep showing up for our school, our staff, and our planet—because every day is worth celebrating. (If your family is interested in, and able to, donate any items for our PTA's staff appreciation events, here is a sign up https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C094EA5AB2BA6FFC43-55780187-staff#/).
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the main office, Miss Susi, or me at any time. You can contact me at mhoude@isd622.org or 651-748-6910.
Together,
Mrs. Houde (pronounced "hood")
Principal
Our schools ML Team will be offering some foods for family's to sample from Acapulco & K’s kitchen eggrolls - this will be free!
Information about our schools ML Team:
The ML (multilingual learner) team services students who speak, understand, or are surrounded by a community that speaks another language and who are still developing their English language skills. Multilingual students tend to excel in tasks that require problem-solving, creativity, and pattern recognition. Being multilingual is a superpower! Our services bolster content learning and English language development. We are Anna Bjorge, Gaocheng Vue, and Melissa Chiri. Our team works with all grades throughout Richardson as co-teachers and academic specialists.
Please join us for our Family Fun Night & School Dance on Friday, May 9th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. This event is free to attend. We will have concessions available to purchase for $1 each. Please RSVP if you are planning to attend.
