ANNOUNCEMENTS
WMS SUMMER WORK
WMS encourages all students to read and practice math over the summer.
We have two opportunities for students to engage with good books:
1. Our WMS "One School, One Question" (formerly "One School, One Book") is our whole-school community-building reading activity. Ms. Cabral, WMS Librarian, worked with a group of students to create a list of potential books. The whole school voted to select three books: one graphic novel, one middle grade novel, and one young adult novel. This summer, all WMS staff and students will choose one of these to read. Students are expected to complete an activity of their choice. Refer to the website linked here: WMS Summer Reading 2024.
2.The WMS English teachers also have grade-level expectations for incoming students. Students can find all information in the documents linked here:
3. We have summer math calendars linked on the same site here: WMS Summer Math 2024.
The documents are also below:
If you have questions, please contact Paula Cabral, WMS Librarian, at paula.cabral@watertown.k12.ma.us or Chris Cochran, WMS Literacy Coach, at christopher.cochran@watertown.k12.ma.us.
Happy reading!

MESSAGE FROM THE WPS NURSES
Student medications must be picked up at the nurse's office by the parent, guardian

Students may come to the nurse's office directly to pick up their medication on the last day

their medication. If you are unsure if your student can self carry or self administer their
medication, please reach out to Nurse Lisa directly (lisa.gallagher@watertown.k12.ma.us).
Student medications that are not picked up by this time will not be accessible over summer
vacation! If your student needs their medication during the summer months, please be
sure to pick it up from Nurse Lisa on the last day of school - even if your
student is participating in a Watertown Public School summer program. Otherwise, you will
not be able to access this medication during the summer! Any medication that your student
requires during a summer program must be delivered directly to the nurse who is
responsible for that summer program.
