"Where all Thunderbirds Thrive"

Week of March 24, 2025
My Dearest Thunderbird Families,
We are heartbroken by the tragic incident that occurred at Young Park Friday evening. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this devastating incident. Please know that your students safety and emotional well-being continue to be our top priorities. We will have our counselors, social worker, and also have access to the Crisis Response Team if needed to provide support to any student needing extra support during this time. Please don't hesitate to call the school if you know your son or daughter are in need of support. Additionally, as stated in the letter that came from the district, we encourage families to review resources from the National Association of School Psychologists on how to talk to children about violence:
Talking to Children About Violence: Tips for Families and Educators
We do hope you all enjoyed your Spring Break and are ready to return and finish the 2024-25 school year strong! These last 10 weeks of school will be a whirlwind of activities and events. The newsletters each week will provide you with important dates to remember. With that being said, Zia is going to be switching our communication mode from Remind to ParentSquare. I have invited you all to participate with a welcome invitation email and will also be sending a letter via email to provide you with more information. You will all automatically begin receiving messages through ParentSquare, however you must activate your account in order to engage in two-way communication. Newsletters will be sent via email, Remind, and ParentSquare starting this week until our Remind subscription ends which will be on April 1st. If you have any questions or need help, please don't hesitate to call the school.
Cell Phones
Please remind students that we are a cell phone free school so they need to stay off and in backpacks throughout the school day. Should you need to get ahold of your son or daughter, please call the office.
Tardies
We are also having an issue with tardies. A tardy report will be ran each Friday and students with multiple tardies will spend time in ISS the following week. Emails will go home to those families so that you can support us in the importance of getting to class on time. We appreciate your support by talking to your kiddos at home!
Here's to the start of a great 4th quarter!
Best Regards,
Mrs. Apodaca
