During the month of February, our school will be embarking on a special project, an all-school book club called One School, One Book.

Every family will receive a gift of the same book and be asked to read it at home. Reading aloud at home is valuable because it better prepares your child to be an effective reader. In addition, it is a fun, worthwhile family activity. With the One School, One Book program, we aim to build a community of readers at our school.

Your child will receive his/her copy at a special school-wide assembly introducing the program and the book on February 3. A reading calendar and additional information will be emailed to families on that day. We hope you will join us for this reading adventure!

Hello Sunflower Families!

I am Mrs. Drinkert, the school counselor! Each month we will focus on one of the 7 Mindsets! February's Mindset is Live to Give! In class, your students are learning the four critical components of Live to Give. Each week we will focus on a different component. We are learning to stretch ourselves, make a difference, receive gracefully, and create a legacy!

My challenge for you is to help your student(s) complete their Mindset of the Month Choice Board! This will give you the chance to help your student(s) grasp the concepts taught within Live to Give while spending quality time together! When you and your student(s) complete items on the choice board, scan the QR code and post a picture to our Mindset of the Month Padlet so we can share how others are living the Live to Give Mindset!

USD 368 will utilize the following to notify parents and the community should the need arise to cancel school.

- PantherAlerts - this text and email feature is available to any parent or community member who wants to sign up. A link to sign up is available on our district webpage under the Parents & Students tab.

- Infinite Campus Messaging system. Emails and phone calls will be sent from Infinite Campus.

- TV (channels 4, 5, 9, 41)

- USD 368 webpage

When possible, a decision will be made the night before, however when this is not possible a decision will be made by 6:00am in the morning.
