YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE
Changing it Up!
We started the year in cohorts for lunch and recess. After a lot of planning with the lunch monitors we made the decision to change things up. Today all of the second graders had lunch together in the cafeteria and then played outside. The students were so excited and well behaved. We plan to continue this practice after the break. By the end of the school year we hope to allow all of the grade levels to eat and play at the same time! Thank you for your patience this year as we reflect and refine our procedures. Together we are BETTER!
Native American Experience
This week, the kindergarten students had the opportunity to attend a Native American cultural arts assembly. Ms. O'Blenis, a teacher at Suffern Central, and her brother Scott shared stories about their childhood and traditions through dance and conversation. As part of the CKLA reading unit, the students had been studying Native Americans, so this experience was a perfect complement to their learning. We are truly fortunate that they were able to visit our school and share such a meaningful experience with the students.
Dental Health Assembly
This week, students attended a Dental Health assembly where they learned valuable information about maintaining healthy teeth and gums. The presentation included tips on brushing and flossing, the importance of regular dental checkups, and how to make healthy food choices for their teeth. The students were engaged and excited to learn about the role good dental habits play in their overall health. It was a fun and informative session that encouraged the students to take better care of their smiles!
