• The Counseling department hosted a FAFSA Workshop for senior parents/guardians on January 13th.
• Grandview hosted a wonderful event for incoming 9th graders and their families on January 21st. We look forward to welcoming more wolves to the den in Fall 2025!

• Counselors will be busy working with students to register for their classes for the 2025-26 school year throughout the month of February! Please plan to discuss course selection options with your students this week.
• January 29th, during Advisory, our 9th, 10th, and 11th graders received the course registration information and presentation.

• Teachers will enter course recommendations in PowerSchool.
• PowerSchool registration will open to students to input courses on January 29th and closes on February 6th.
• February 5th and 6th, counselors will work with 9th, 10th, & 11th graders to verify course choices during their Science class.

The course will run from June 2nd to June 20th . Students are required to show up in-person each of the 3 Tuesdays during that time, the rest of the work will be completed online via Schoology (asynchronous). Tuesday in-person sessions will be held at Grandview from 8:00am-12:15pm. Transportation will not be provided. Students must attend all 3 in-person sessions. Students must also be in the United States for the online portions. Schoology does not work out of the country.

Transcript Deadlines: Transcript request forms MUST be submitted to Ms. Wilson in the Post Grad Center no later than 10 school days prior to the College/University deadline.

Mid-Year Transcript Requests: If your student is in need of mid-year transcripts for college applications, they are now available. Mid-year transcripts include 1st semester Senior grades. To request a mid-year transcript, students will need to complete a YELLOW Mid-Year Transcript Request Form (these are available NOW and can be found in the Post Grad Center) and submit to Ms. Wilson in Post Grad.

  Colorado has two programs in which students can qualify for a free year (or two) of college tuition at participating institutions. Expenses covered include tuition, books and fees (Housing is not covered)

  
  

  Seniors- Interested in applying for a FREE year of college tuition?

  ASCENT is a scholarship opportunity that will pay for the first year of college tuition as well as books and fees (does not cover housing or meals) at participating colleges in Colorado! Participating colleges include all community colleges in Colorado as well as two 4-year schools; Metro and UNC in Greeley.

  To qualify, Seniors must have 9 college credits by the time they gradate Grandview. Most of our concurrent enrollment classes are at least 3 college credits so a student who has taken 3 CE classes while at Grandview (passed all with a C or better AND completed the paperwork for college credit) can qualify. AP classes taken prior to Senior year can also count towards that total (if the AP test was passed with a 3 or higher).

  We will be having information sessions and application workshops on February 11th and 12th here at Grandview for students only (Virtual parent meetings will be held at a later date for those who have applied). We will have 4 workshop sessions, both lunches, both days, and students just need to attend one.

  Prior to attending the workshop, students should have completed a FAFSA application. This is to ensure students are making the best decision financially and can see whether the scholarship or FAFSA offers more money.

  We will personally invite students who have already qualified, however, students are welcome to see their counselor if they are wondering if they qualify or have any questions!

  
  

  For TREP (2 years of college tuition free), students must want to major in something in the education field (teacher, school counselor, school psychologist, etc) and must take 1 concurrent enrollment class during their senior year from the approved list.

  
  

  If you are a senior and think you may qualify, make an appointment to talk to your counselor. For 9th-11th graders, keep this in mind when signing up for classes so that you get the required 9 credits and feel free to see your counselor for questions.

• RECCS Scholarship- High School Seniors in CherryCreek Schools are eligible to apply for $3,000 Merit, Adversity or Career-Tech scholarships. • Naviance (tile can be found on your my.cherrycreek login) is a great tool to find various scholarships. Click on Colleges > Scholarships and Money.

• Seniors should be visiting the Financial Aid & Scholarship pages at each college/university you have applied to. This will continue to be the best place to find financial aid and scholarship resources and information.

• Grandview Juniors will be taking the state mandated (free) SAT on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Grandview High School. Students are automatically registered and paid for.
• Please see the attached SAT information for your reference.

• SAT for Juniors - Students have the choice to also take the optional essay for SAT. This will add 1 hour to their testing time. Student's should check with the colleges they plan to apply to in order to see if they use the SAT essay in admissions. If your student would like to add the essay portion, they must meet with his/her counselor in person before February 12th.

• 10th graders will be taking the PSAT10 on the April 16th testing day.
• 9th graders will be taking the PSAT9 on April 17th. CMAS for 11th graders is the same day.
