Dear parents and carers.
What a busy week we have had in school! Our year 6 children sat their SATS tests from Monday to Thursday this week. We are all incredibly proud of them for showing such maturity and positivity throughout. These tests reflect a small part of their many skills and talents; they are a fantastic group of children who we know will continue to thrive in their new schools come September.
Luther King class has also had a very busy week.with their forest school day on Thursday, an overnight camp out on Thursday night, and a day full of exciting outdoor activities today. It was lovely to see them enjoying their night at school, and to hear the excited chatter coming from tents - even when it was rather late and we were hoping for some sleep!
Today, Seacole class impressed their audience with a fantastic assembly, showcasing all of the learning they have been doing this term. A highlight was their diary entries detailing the Great Fire of London, where they painted a vivid picture of this important historical event. They were very keen to plan and write the assembly themselves, and thought really carefully about what they wanted to include. Well done Seacole!
Next week is Forest Schools week, and we are all looking forward to spending time doing lots of outdoor activities. Hopefully the sun will shine, but if the weather is inclement, please remember to send raincoats and appropriate clothing.
As you all know, our field is waiting to be levelled and reseeded following the installation of our ground source heat pumps last summer. Now the rain has finally stopped, it is dry enough for this to be done in the next few weeks. We are still able to use the field, just not for activities that require running due to the uneven surface. This year's Sports day will be done a little differently as a result of this, however we are really excited about what we have planned. This year, we are going to hold sports day for all children together on the afternoon of Thursday June 20th. We invite you to come at 12pm with a picnic lunch, so you can eat lunch on the field with your children. Sports day will start at 1pm, when children will move around a variety of sporting activities in groups.
Have a lovely weekend.

Message from Head Pupils
We’ve had a really busy week at Kirk Fenton. Year 6 have been busy working their way through their SATs. We finished with a party this morning to celebrate our success. Last night, year 4 had their camp out on the school field. They had lots of fun, and were quite muddy. Year 2 did their class assembly this morning and though we were not privileged enough to see it, we are confident that they did spectacularly.
Head pupil awards go to Ashton (YR) and Eva (Y2).
