Bluejacket Family Communication
January 16, 2025

Dear Bluejacket Families
Happy New Year, Cambridge-Isanti families! As we step into 2025, it’s a wonderful time to reflect on our shared journey and look forward with optimism. Over the past year, our district has celebrated milestones and overcome challenges, all thanks to the resilience, innovation, and dedication of our incredible students, families, and community. This month, our Strategic Plan Community Task Force came together to reflect on the progress made in 2024 and to set priorities for the year ahead. One of the key priorities identified by the task force is the development of a Comprehensive Facility Plan. This plan will focus on addressing several important areas, including capacity challenges, reimagining learning spaces, extensive deferred maintenance issues, and improving our recreation, athletics, and activity spaces. Work on the Comprehensive Facility Plan will begin next month with our Facility Community Task Force. This group will explore solutions ensure our buildings and spaces support the needs of students, staff, and the community. You can learn more about this important initiative by visiting our website. We are energized by the opportunities ahead and grateful for the ongoing engagement of our parents, caregivers, and community members who are shaping the future of our schools. Together, we will continue to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. Thank you for your partnership and trust. Here’s to a year of growth, connection, and success!

GO BIG BLUE!
Celebrating Instructional Assistants
January 20–January 26, 2025, has been proclaimed as Paraprofessional Recognition Week in Minnesota! This special week honors the dedication and hard work of instructional assistants who play a vital role in supporting students, teachers, and schools. At Cambridge-Isanti Schools, our instructional assistants go above and beyond every day to provide individualized attention, foster positive relationships, and ensure that every student has the support they need to succeed. We are deeply grateful for their commitment, compassion, and tireless efforts. Please join us in thanking our incredible instructional assistants for all that they do to make a difference in our schools and community!
Is my child well enough to come to school?
As we enter the colder months, we’ve seen an increase in illnesses within our community. To keep everyone healthy, please remember to keep your child at home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Fever of 100°F or higher
A suspicious rash with a temperature above 99.4°F
Students can return to school once they meet these criteria:
Fever-free for 24 hours, without the use of fever-reducing medications
Free from vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours
While we understand that missing school can disrupt your child’s learning, their health and the well-being of others must come first. We have systems in place to help students catch up on missed work and assignments upon their return.
Please notify the school office as soon as possible if your child is absent due to illness. Absences can be reported via Skyward Family Access, the Skyward App, or by calling the school’s attendance line. More information can be found on our Health Services page.
Winter Weather Reminders
As winter weather approaches, Cambridge-Isanti Schools is committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff. We want all families to be prepared for potential schedule changes that may arise due to inclement weather. In the event of severe weather, the district may implement an eLearning Day, a delayed start, or an early dismissal. Families will be notified through phone calls, text messages, or emails. It is important to review your family’s contact information in Skyward Family Access to ensure it is accurate.
To prepare for these situations, we recommend:
Reviewing our School Closings and Alerts page
Discuss with your family how you will handle potential schedule changes
Check that your contact information in Skyward is up to date
