Sneak Peek of the Week! 👓
Next week our virtue of focus is COOPERATION, perfect as we enter into Parent Teacher Interviews, and the cooperative nature of our school- home relationships!
November Parent Teacher Interviews will be happening on Tuesday Nov 19 & Wednesday Nov 20th, from 4-7pm. Please find the SignUp Genius below to secure your appointment time by finding your child's teacher's tab across the top and selecting the time that works best for your family. During PTI's, the Scholastic Bookfair will be open in the library, accepting cash, debit and credit. Thank you for supporting this important fundraiser for our library!
Monday Nov. 18
- Book Fair begins! Students will have the opportunity to browse through this great library fundraiser with their classes. The book fair will be open for purchases at lunch time all week long for students who bring money.
Tuesday Nov. 19
-Parent Teacher Interviews from 4-7pm. The Book Fair will be open for your early Christmas shopping pleasure, accepting cash, debit and credit. The office will also be open to help with PowerSchool, fees, or to just pop in and say "Hi!".
-Students in grades 7-9 are invited to attend the Immaculate Conception Church's Youth Group from 7-8:30pm! Participants will have the opportunity to grow in faith with other youth, create an advent wreath, and, of course, enjoy free pizza! This group is open to everyone in the community from grades 7-9.
Wednesday Nov. 20
- Cash pre-orders are due to the office for Hot Dog Day on Thursday
-Parent Teacher Interviews continue from 4-7pm. Again the Book Fair and office will both be open. Ms. Megan Butler from Catholic Family Services will be available for bookings for families of students who see her.
Thursday Nov. 21
- Hot Dog Day, thanks to our parent volunteers who keep this great fundraising program rolling!
-Town Light Up in Sexsmith and "Christmas in Sexsmith" begins! While not a school event, we hope to see many of our Saints families visiting during this great community time! Our grade 6 class will be preparing hot dogs to be served during the town light up!
-Orders for our next hot lunch, kid- friendly Taco-In-A-Bag are due through PowerSchool before midnight.
Friday Nov. 22
- PD Day, no school for our students while our staff work on their own professional development.
Saturday Nov. 23
- Student Art Card sale at the Christmas Market! Pop by the Civic Centre to purchase student- made Christmas cards!
- Annual Reverse Santa Toy and Food Drive in Sexsmith! Watch for horse drawn wagons, firetrucks and volunteers canvassing for your donation of new toys, games and unexpired food for the Sexsmith and Area's Christmas Hamper program! As always, Mrs. Nelson will happily accept donations at the office, too!
Mon Nov 25- Parent Council Meeting, potential Booster Group meeting.
Wed Nov 28- Taco In A Bag hot lunch.
Fri Nov 29- Report cards go home, T1 ends, Christmas concert props, decorations etc due.
Sun Dec 1- Advent begins!
Dec 2- Staff meeting, 2:30 dismissal, T2 JH options begin.
Wed Dec 4- Hot dog pre-orders due
Thurs Dec 5- Hot dog day, Pizza Hut orders due.
Thurs Dec 12- Pizza Hut lunch, Christmas Concert @ 6pm

Remembrance Day Contest Winners 🌺
St. Mary’s students poured their hearts into the Legion’s Remembrance Day contest, showcasing their gratitude and respect for those who have served our country. Through powerful reflections, creative artwork, and heartfelt writing, they honored the sacrifices made for our freedom.
We are so proud of the thoughtfulness and creativity our students brought to this important tradition. Thank you to all who participated and helped us remember and reflect. Special congratulations go out to the following contest winners:

Saints Shout Out!🎉
St. Mary's would like to give a Shout Out to Inside Education, as well as their partners in industry for hosting our junior high on the Energy Innovation Day tour! From touring Canadian Natural Resources Ltd's Wapiti Gas Plant, Roska DBO Inc & the Horse Lake First Nation bio-refinery to building solar lanterns & hydrogen cars, our students had a great, eye opening experience.
Thanks to partners TC Energy, Cenovus, Canadian Natural Resources Ltd, Keyera Corp, Pembina Pipeline Corporation, Strathcona Resources Ltd, Strathcona Resources Ltd and the Government of Alberta for supporting this program!

Hot Lunch through PowerSchool!🍕
Tired of the same old sandwiches? We’ve got you covered! Log into your PowerSchool Parent Portal and order hot lunches from our favorite vendors. Orders for our next Hot Lunch, a delicious Taco in a Bag, made right here in school, are due on Thursday November 21st at midnight, for lunch to be served Thursday November 28th. While in PowerSchool, feel free to order ahead for dates leading up to Christmas—it's a one-stop shop! (Reminder: Orders close about a week before the scheduled date, so you don’t have to order all at once, but you can if that's easier for you!)

School Fees 💵
St. Mary's does not charge base fees for the academic year, however, certain programs do have fees attached.
Fees for our Pre-K program are due monthly by the 5th of each month.
Junior High CTS classes have been invoiced and emailed home. Statements will reflect fees for the whole year, however, only fees associated with Term 1 are past due.
Extra Curricular and sports teams also have fees attached, and are due before the first event for each team.
Fees can easily be paid online through the PowerSchool Parent portal, or in person in the office. Please don't hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions or would like to make arrangements for payment.
