Dear Erickson Families,

The PTO 30th Birthday Bash was so much FUN! Thank you PTO for bringing together the Erickson Community to celebrate Erickson's 30th birthday. BIG shout out to Corrine Principe, parent of Michael in 1st grade, for spearheading the PTO Birthday Bash. During the school day we also celebrated Erickson's birthday! We started the day with the WGN Helicopter flyover...what a fun way to kick off the day! Thank you to Mrs. Stankoskey and the Forsythe Family for organizing. Later in the day we had a celebration assembly. Thank you to Lili Kapral, Jillian Lehman, Ashley Rusin, Allison Rusin, and Sophia Harting for leading the school's 30th birthday assembly celebration. We had over 30 retirees, as well as past and current board members attend the celebration. Students also participated in an all school Erickson Bingo and won fun 90's inspired prizes. Each class then submitted memories for the time capsule that was later buried near the school. Celebrating Erickson's 30th will be a fond memory for the Erickson School Community! OPEN HOUSE is TONIGHT, Thursday, May 16 from 5:30pm-7:00pm. This is a "stop in" event anytime during the 5:30pm-7:00pm window. Although many stay the whole time. Families can stop by classrooms for activities, purchase baked goods from the PTO Bake Sale, visit the book fair in the gym, and hang out with friends (with parent supervision) at the playground. Come in and celebrate your child's school year successes! See flyer below.

Lunch with A Loved One is on Wednesday, May 22th from 12:00-12:40 (weather permitting)

Families are invited to Erickson to have a picnic lunch with their child(ren) from 12:00-12:40 on school grounds. Bring picnic blankets, chairs, etc. and enjoy time outside with your family. All students will eat from 12:00-12:40 on this day. RSVP for Picnic Here. See flyer below.

The last 26 days, Erickson students will follow the below calendar to celebrate learning and the countdown to summer!

As the District moves to a new registration portal (Alma) for the 2024-2025 school year, ALL families (New and Returning) will be required to prove residency. Previous documents submitted are not able to be transferred to Alma.

In the meantime, please reference the attached proof of residency documentation to start compiling the necessary documents.

2024-2025 School Fees will be posted to your student(s) account shortly. Once the fee is

posted, you will receive an email from My School Bucks. Fees are due September 1, 2024.

• Field Day is scheduled for May 31st and rain date of June 3rd during school hours. Parents wanting to volunteer can email ericksonpto13@gmail.com with their availability.

  • The last dine out night for the year is at Chick-fil-A from 11am-7pm on Thursday, May 16th. These are for mobile orders only so if any mobile order is placed during those hours. A percentage of the event sales will be donated back to Erickson Elementary PTO.

  
  

  
  

Dear Parents and Students:

Summer 2024 Basketball Camps are quickly approaching.

Camp will be held the weeks of:

JUNE 10th-13th and JUNE 24th-27th (Monday-Thursday)

The camps this year are going to be the same format as in years past, and continued to be ran by Mrs. Hilden (Westfield Middle School, PE Teacher) but the payment will be made to the Bloomingdale Park District. See this information page for details. Flyers will also be sent home with your child.

Please register online at www.bloomingdaleparks.org or in person at Bloomingdale Park District. Spots fill up quickly so please try to get registered as soon as possible. Registration begins APRIL 4th. Any questions please email Kelly Hilden at khilden@sd13.org.

School Hours:

Grades 1st-5th: 8:40-3:30

Kindergarten AM: 8:40-11:30

Kindergarten PM: 12:40-3:30

Preschool AM: 8:50-11:20

Preschool PM: 12:50-3:20

Student Arrival:

Kindergarten-5 grade students can begin arriving at 8:25. Students should gather in the front of the building. Doors open at 8:30. Students should arrive by 8:40

Lunch Hours:

1st, 2nd & 3rd Grade Lunch: 12:00-12:25

4th-5th Grade Lunch: 12:25-12:50

Dropping off lunches from restaurants (ie- McDonald's, Wendy's, Panera, etc.) as well as using food delivery services to drop off food (ie -GrubHub, Door Dash) is not allowed. Students should bring their lunch in the morning to school each day. Safety is our number one priority and we would like to limit visitors.
