Greetings Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy Families,
Happy Friday! Welcome back! It was the BEST feeling seeing all of our scholars back in school this week. I entered classrooms excited to see cameras on, as our scholars have grown and matured over the summer and it was great to continue seeing them grow with us year after year. Our founding families have transitioned from elementary to middle to high school. We are abundantly blessed to welcome all NEW families to our Phalen Virtual Leadership Academy family. We hope that you have felt the PLA Virtual Phoenix community support and love this first week of school. We are happy you are here with us and everyone is committed to the success of every scholar on our watch.
We have a very busy week next week and we always need your help and support to ensure everything goes well for our scholars. We will complete our beginning of the year benchmark assessments (NWEA, Horizon and MClass). The goal is to better understand each scholar's academic grade and ability levels to best support them. Please do not help or support your scholars, as we need to know how to best support your scholar, and if you help them, we will receive data to best support you. We love having you as a learning coach/parent/guardian, but we do not need your academic grade or ability levels. Helping your scholar for these assessments will hinder us fully supporting your scholar, so please honor our request and do not help your scholar whether they are in any grade from Kindergarten to 12th Grade.
We will end our week of Benchmark Assessments with our Annual Back to School Event at Riverside Park. It's a Pizza and Playground theme this year! We will serve lunch, host a Title 1 and Title III meeting to share what initiatives and support systems we have in place to further support your scholar(s) to achieve their full academic potential.
Registration is still open for the 2024-2025 Academic School Year. Please share your success at PLA Virtual with friends, family, neighbors and organizations, as we may be a great school choice for them as well. Our registration link is below.
We look forward to seeing your scholar(s) on Monday, August 19, 2024! Our Grades 6-12 scholars begin their school day at 8:00am and our Grades K-5 scholars begin at 8:30am.
