Hello SJE Families!
Welcome to April. It's almost unreal how fast the Spring semester is racing by, however we are soaking up every minute! Our students are working incredibly hard to solidify the concepts being taught daily and make the absolute most of this school year. I am so proud of our Suns. We want to thank you for joining us for our Color Run! It was such a fun day!
It has been a true joy to walk the halls and visit classrooms and see the excitement in our learner's eyes when they master skills or make connections. Our students truly Shine Bright each day!
We have a very busy April, so please be sure to read the newsletter for updates and be on the lookout for any email or text blasts you may receive this month! April is also a month filled with recognition of some of our amazing staff members that help us unlock our greatest potential. Happy Assistant Principal's week to the incredible Mrs. Buck and Mrs. Lambert! April 3rd is Paraprofessional Day and we will honor all our incredible paraprofessionals. And, April 4th is School Librarian Day where we will honor Mrs. Roop! We appreciate each of them and all that they do!
While we have so much more to accomplish this year, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support! We are so much better together and all that you do to work alongside us is appreciated! Should you have questions, concerns, or suggestions, please let us know!

Kid Chat
As we continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff, I would like to take a moment to remind everyone about the importance of maintaining a safe and secure environment within our school community.
Creating a safe and supportive learning environment is a shared responsibility that involves the collaboration of students, parents, teachers, and staff. We encourage an open line of communication to ensure that everyone feels comfortable reporting any concerns they may have regarding the safety of our school community. If you witness or become aware of any potentially unsafe situations, activities, or behaviors, please do not hesitate to report them immediately. Your input is crucial in helping us address and resolve issues promptly. We take all concerns seriously and treat them with the utmost confidentiality.
To report any safety concerns or incidents, please use the following channels:
Speak directly to a teacher or staff member: If you feel comfortable doing so, approach a teacher, staff member, or administrator in person to share your concerns.
Submit an anonymous report: We understand that some individuals may prefer to remain anonymous when reporting concerns. You can use our confidential reporting system, Anonymous Alerts, to submit your information without revealing your identity.
Contact Conroe ISD Police: 1-888-KID-CHAT
Contact our Campus Resources Officer: You can send an email to Officer Kimberly Kidwell at kkidwell@conroeisd.net if you would like to report concerns via email. Please be sure to include as much detail as possible.
Fire Lane
This is a reminder to please refrain from parking in the fire line at any time while at San Jacinto. We understand that parking in this zone allows quick access, however it does pose a safety hazard in the event emergency professionals are needed on campus. Thank you so much for your support!

Conroe ISD Cell Phone Policy
The Conroe ISD Board adopted new guidelines regarding student cell phone use during the October Board meeting. While it is not a substantial guideline change at the elementary level, there are changes in which parents need to be aware. Our Foundations team has worked to create a plan to help ensure that these procedures are being implemented on our campus and that we are helping students adapt to these changes. The student handbook is currently being updated to reflect these changes. The new guidelines state the following:
Cell phones and smartwatches may be used respectfully and responsibly before school and after school.
Cell phones and smartwatches should not be used to capture video, audio, or images at school or on the bus.
Cell phones and smartwatches should be set on silent mode and kept in backpacks, lockers, or other designated storage areas and should not be visible during school hours including instructional time, reward time, free time, lunch, and in the hallways.
Use of cell phones and smartwatches may be permitted in extenuating circumstances with permission from a staff member. (ex. to notify parent/ guardian of a late bus)
