TVMS News
May 4 , 2024
Greetings TVMS families,
This past week we enjoyed our Spring Music, Chorus and Orchestra concerts. Our students truly shined on stage, and their growth since our Winter concert was evident. I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated orchestra director, Mr. Newberger, and our talented Music and Choir director, Ms. Pope. Their hard work and unwavering commitment to our students have helped them achieve such impressive progress. And a thank you to all the staff and families who came out to support our talented performers.
IT’S TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!
This upcoming week, we will be celebrating Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week from May 6th to May 10th. This is our chance to show our gratitude for the incredible work our teachers and staff do each day to educate and support our students.
We have planned a series of activities and treats to honor our teachers and staff throughout the week. If you would like to contribute, please consider signing up for donation opportunities on our Signup Genius. Alternatively, if you prefer to make a financial contribution, you can do so through our "feed a teacher" link below. Every gesture of appreciation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.
Additionally, I encourage you to take a moment to write a thank you note or email to show our teachers and staff how much they mean to you and your child. I know your words of appreciation will brighten their day and remind them of the impact they have on our school community.
Thank you for your continued support.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Mrs. Denise Young, Principal

IMPORTANT BUS REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Parents/guardians whose children are eligible for bus transportation are asked to register to receive bus service each year to help the school system plan for student transportation needs. The transportation registration process opened on Monday, April 8 and is open through May 31, to be completed online via HCPSS Connect Synergy. Registration must be done for each eligible child.
To be eligible for bus service, your child’s home address must be outside of a school’s walk zones. You can verify address eligibility in the HCPSS School Attendance Area Locator. After inputting your address, a window will appear that will indicate either bus or walk for each school level. Please note, the attendance area locator also includes a link for the bus stop locator, which is set for the current school year. Bus stop information for the 2024-2025 school year will be available in August.
You do not need to take any action if:
- Your child is not eligible for bus transportation
- Your child receives transportation as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan, or
- Your child is a graduating senior
Details on bus transportation registration, including a guide to register and scenarios families may see when registering, can be found online.

Effective the first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year, 1 dose of Tdap vaccine and 1 dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) are required by the state of Maryland for all students entering grade 7. Many students may have already received these immunizations, but the Health Room may not have the updated immunization record.
