Tennis
The Varsity Tennis team was in the Fredericksburg Tournament last week. This was a very competetive tournament with several 5A and 6A schools competing. None of the Blanco players medaled, but Colby Murphree and Alex Beliveau got a big win against a team from Boerne in mixed doubles before losing to a team from 6A O'Connor the next round.
The Dual Meet with Johnson City was rained out. The tournament in Mason this weekend was canceled due to travel concerns involving the number of visitors coming to the area for the eclipse on Monday.
Blanco will host a varsity tournament on April 10 and a JV tournament on April 11. The District Tournament will be in Ingram on April 22 and 23.
Softball
The softball team collected 2 wins in the last 7 days. They traveled to Comfor and picked up a decisive win there, then hosted Florence on Monday with the same outcome. The Panthers will host Llano (3/28) to start the second half of the district schedule and travel to Ingram on Monday (4/1). They will be in Brady on Friday (4/5).
Baseball
Varsity Baseball remains undefeated in district with wins over Comfort on Friday and Florence on Monday. JV lost to Comfort and had their game with Florence canceled due to rain the night before. The baseball teams will host Llano on Friday (3/28), travel to Ingram on Monday (4/1) to complete round one of the district schedule. They travel to Brady on Friday (4/5) to start the second half of district.
The JV baseball team will play in the Marion Tournament Thursday. They were originally scheduled to play Saturday as well, but with concerns over travel conditions over the weekend due to visitors in the area for the eclipse, the Saturday date has been canceled.
Track
The Track teams were in Comfort March 27. There was an hour and a half lightning delay about 45 minutes into the meet. The meet eventually resumed around 6 PM. Our athletes did a great job. This was a practice meet so athletes competed to improve performance only. There were no team point totals or official places. Mr. Dixon did a great job as the starter. Many of our coaches helped run off events and were very efficient in doing so. Congratulations to our athletes and athletic staff for a job well done.
The District Meet will be in Llano on April 2 and 3.
Reggie Johnson qualified for the Texas Relays. This is an exclusive meet with athletes being invited for past performances and reaching qulaifying marks. He will throw the discus on Friday (3/29) at 4:15 PM in Austin. Congratulations and Good Luck Reggie!

Construction Update
The pad is complete for the Educational Center for the Arts. The first round of concrete for the foundation was poured (Friday 3/22). The remaining concrete slab will be done in stages and not all at once. When that is complete, the building will start going vertical and more progress will be noticeable. Completion is scheduled for late Spring 2025.
Things are progressing with the field house. Major work moving dirt for the pad is ongoing. They are working to create the pad and getting it level with the track. The field house should be ready early in the upcoming football season.
Check back for more details as the construction process progresses.
