The 14th Street Ram Report #37

This will be the last newsletter of the 2023-2024 school year! It has been a pleasure getting to know your child(ren) and the families of 14th Street. I hope you all have a relaxing, fun filled summer vacation!

Our last day of school will be Monday, June 17th, with report cards being mailed out Monday, June 24th. Next year's teacher placement will be on the report card.

Summer Hours:

If you need to contact the office, Ms. McCorrison will work 2 weeks after school ends and the 2 weeks prior to it beginning again. I will also be in all summer, except the last week of June, over the 4th of July, and on Fridays.

PreK & K Registration

If you know of anyone who still needs to register for PreK or Kindergarten, please send them in!

PreK Screening

PreK screening will be on August 7th from 11-2 at Vine Street School for any 14th Street students. Please call to schedule a slot for your 4 year old. If this date does not work for you, we will have a make up date on August 21st. All PreK students must be screened prior to beginning school on September 3rd.

Waivers

Waivers will need to come back if you plan to send your child to 14th and you live in another school's neighborhood. Those are approved on a year to year basis by the Superintendent.

Thank you to the PTO this year for all they did for 14th Street School and our students! We had fun filled events that they organized, lead, and sponsored. Staff definitely felt loved during Teacher Appreciation Week! And they were always ready to lend a hand whenever we needed it- ripping out math pages so students won't struggle with them, organizing the bookroom, filling bags of popcorn, etc.

We will begin again next fall, and all are welcome! The PTO truly think about the students and school when planning out the year.

June 17: Last Student Day! Enjoy your summer! ☀️

June 24: Report cards will be mailed home

Field day will be mainly outside, to include one water activity, so here is a list of items to pack your child that day:

• Sunglasses
• Sunscreen
• Change of clothes
• A pair of dry shoes

Please do not send your child in flip flops or sandals as they may slip and fall during the water portion.

Thank you Mr. Edward for taking the time to organize all the activities, for our volunteers who are running the stations, and to the PTO for buying the fruit popsicles!

Important dates for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year:

First day- September 3rd

Parent/Teacher Conferences- November 25-26 (no school for students that week)

February Vacation- Feb 15- Feb 23

April Vacation- April 26- April 27
