Message from the Assistant Principal
Dear Pirate Families,
It’s a busy and exciting week at East Minico as we wrap up our fall sports season! A huge congratulations to all of our athletes who participated in soccer, volleyball, cross country, and football. On Tuesday night, come cheer on our 8th-grade football team as they compete against West Minico for their first championship game. Our 7th grade football team will be traveling to South Hills. Come out and support our players and show our Pirate Pride!
We are looking forward to connecting with you at Parent-Teacher Conferences this week! Conferences will be held on Thursday, October 10, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and Friday, October 11, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. This is a valuable opportunity to discuss your student’s progress and collaborate on ways to support their success moving forward.
Our annual Canned Food Drive is up and running through October 16th! Students can bring canned food items to school, which will be donated to local food banks to help those in need in our community. We’re also in a friendly competition with other schools in Minidoka County—let's come together to make a difference.
Delta Dental is doing Grins on the Go in October for all 7th and 8th graders. If you would like your child to get free dental sealants and a free fluoride treatment at school this month, please fill out
Thank you for your continued support of East Minico and all that you do to help your child succeed!
Warm regards,
Tamara Carter
Assistant Principal

#7: 🙋🏽 Important Reminders
Flu Mist
Flu Mist Info: South Central Public Health will be at East Minico on Oct. 8th 2024 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. to offer flu mist to the students and the flu shot to staff. It is completely optional. If you want your student to receive the flu mist, you must fill out and send the parent consent form with them that day complete with signature and insurance info (if applicable). You may obtain this form from the office, or you scan the QR code and print it at home.
Please contact the Heyburn SCPHD office for questions re: cost for the flu vaccine at 208-678-8221.
Note from our Nurses
Guardians,
There is a vaccine requirement that must be met for students to attend 7th grade. This requires getting the TDap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccine and the meningitis ACYW vaccine OR filling out an exemption form. Some of you have been made aware that your student has not met this requirement. These vaccines can be obtained by scheduling an appointment with your family health care provider. You can also get the vaccines done by a walk-in to most local pharmacies, Family Health Services, or local Urgent Care. Be sure to get a printout documenting what vaccines were given, to turn in. If you believe exemption is right for your student, please get the form in the office. Also, see flyer about a vaccine clinic opportunity. This requirement (either scheduling the vaccines or exemption) needs to be taken care of ASAP for your student to continue in school without interruption, thank you!

Mrs. Cook's class is working hard to get school supplies to Africa. Have extra supplies you would like to donate? Please send them our way. Our 6th graders are doing such great things in the world!!
