Chorus Students Excel at State Evaluation
Congratulations to the Cedar Shoals Advanced Chorus for a fantastic performance the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE). This event is an adjudicated performance that serves as an annual assessment of the ensemble. Our Chorus earned an Excellent, the second highest rating. Our singers worked hard and demonstrated remarkable growth as we prepared for this event. Go Jags!
Also, what to hear the Cedar's choral talent presenting songs of freedom and hope, as well as some Disney favorites? Come out to the Choral Program's Spring Concert April 22 at 6:30 on the theater. Both the Beginning and Advanced Choruses will perform songs you won't want to miss.
And finally, we're recruiting! Any students who love to sing should contact Ms. Pierce at piercek@clarke.k12.ga.us to talk about opportunities to join the choral program next year! No experience required, just come see what it's about!
Math Club
The Cedar Shoals Math Team (Will Fang, Ben Michael, Calvin Williams, Finn Gillan, Enoch Maganda, and Max Whitford) recently participated in 5 nationwide competitions (Power, Sprint, Team, Target, and Relay) through MathLeague.org. The team performed very well coming in first in the Power Question competition. This competition required the team to work together to solve a complex math problem. In addition to the team success, Ben Michael came in second overall for 10th graders in the Sprint Round and Will Fang came in second overall for 10th graders in the Target Round.
Anyone interested in participating on the Math Team next year should see Dr. Morgan.
