The Trekker Times
November 4, 2024
Dear Bishop Baraga Trekkers,
Report cards have been published on SchoolSpeak for our kindergarten through eighth grade classes. Please login and acknowledge that you have reviewed them. If you would like a printed copy of the report card, please email me or the office, and we will send a copy home.
We had a special election today at school, thanks to Mrs. Kuzak. Our students were able to vote for their favorite cookie - oreo or chocolate chip. Mrs. Kuzak set up a few voting booths outside the first grade classroom. The polls were open from 8:00 a.m. this morning until 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. The winner will be announced tomorrow, and the students will enjoy the winning cookie!
Our Caught Being a Christian Award this week goes to Mia Kujala. Mia helped a classmate follow directions and stay on task. She was practicing the virtue of kindness. Great job, Mia!
Have a wonderful week!
God bless,
Angela Oller
Safer Routes to School Grant Program
Bishop Baraga Catholic School is participating in the "Safe Routes to School" program. We are working with Iron Mountain Public School on a competitive grant application that would allow us to make it easier and safer for students to bike and walk to school. We have a 5-10 minute survey we are asking families to complete to help with this grant. Each family completes only one survey per school your student(s) attend.
Your feedback is important. However, your participation is completely voluntary. You may refuse to answer any question(s). By participating, you indicate your consent to participate in the survey. There are no known risks associated with your participation and it may contribute to a better understanding of issues concerning motorized and nonmotorized transportation to schools. Your student will also fill out a survey at school. You can request a copy of this for review. If you have concerns about this, please contact the office.
Your responses will be kept confidential and neither your name nor your student's name will be associated with any results.
Thank you for participating in this survey.
Classroom Photos
We had a great All Saints' Day last Friday starting with Mass. Our middle school choir sounded beautiful. In the afternoon, Mrs. Michaud's 7th and 8th graders ran a fun-packed Saints Festival for all the classes. Thanks to all the parents who set up trunk-or-treating, volunteered, or donated items to make this such a success. We are so blessed to be a part of the great communion of Saints!
The seventh and eighth graders made models of different types of volcanoes. The students presented their models to the younger grades.
