Meetings will be held at the Boone County Extension Office

Now would be a great time to start working on horsemanship levels.

All 4-H members must complete Level 1 testing after 2 years in the horse project. Exhibitors must comply with this requirement by June 1, 2025.

To pass Level 1 testing, members must complete a Written test, Skills test, and Club demonstration on any of the points mentioned in the 4-H Horse Project manual (suggested length: 10-20 minutes). The manual for the Advancement Levels and the Membership Manual are available at the Extension Office.

The 4-H Junior Leaders club will be re-organizing soon! If you are in 8th through 12th grades and a member of a Boone County 4-H Club, you are welcome to join us. You can join the BAND App group to receive all of the updates on meetings and events. To join, go to https://band.us/n/a2a0A9hbnbB4m

The Beef Weigh-in in Albion is January 19, with February 2 as a snow date. For 4-H & FFA exhibitors residing in Boone or Nance County who are planning to show market or breeding beef at the County and State Fair, as well as Aksarben. Animals will be tagged, weighed, and a DNA sample taken. Weigh-in will be held at Town & Country Vet Clinic from 1-2 pm.
