Student Safety & Security Survey
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In compliance with Senate Bill 2050, passed during the 87th Legislative Session, all Texas school districts are required to collect information annually through student surveys on bullying and cyberbullying. The results of these surveys help develop action plans to address student concerns.
All Katy ISD students in grades 4-12 are invited to participate in an online survey administered by K12 Insight. As a trusted provider of online surveys for school districts nationwide, K12 Insight ensures the confidentiality of participants’ responses.
Students will be asked to enter their student ID numbers to maintain data integrity. These IDs are used solely to verify participation by campus and grade level. K12 Insight does not share data that links participants to their individual responses with Katy ISD or any external parties.
Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary. If you wish to opt your child out of the survey, please log in to MyKaty and select the KISD Option Portal icon. The deadline to opt out is February 9, 2025.
Students will complete the survey in homebase later in the year.

Art News
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you!—Tays' Titan Artist, Kaytlyn Xiao, 8th grade has earned a “Special Merit” award for her Rodeo Art piece!
Her artwork will be on display at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in the prestigious Hayloft Gallery this year. The Hayloft is in the NRG arena.
In the coming weeks, the Rodeo Art Committee will decide which art pieces will qualify for auction, so Kaytlyn’s piece could still being considered for this amazing opportunity!

Volunteer Raptor Initiative
Katy ISD requires all volunteers serving on or off-campus during or after the instructional day to register with the district through its Raptor security system.
Once registered and approved, individual volunteers can:
• Sign up as a campus volunteer by completing the volunteer recruitment form provided by your campus organization(s) or contact your campus volunteer coordinator.
• Track hours via their volunteer profile for every Katy ISD campus at which they volunteer
• The system also provides quick and easy submission of individual off-campus volunteer hours.

Parents and schools will only need to know the Route ID (or likely just called "route") because the bus number will no longer matter.
