Teaching Reconstruction
Join us to learn about teaching Reconstruction as part of U.S. History!
We invite teachers, instructional coaches, and leaders to a professional learning series which will prepare teachers to teach the Reconstruction Era as outlined in the Michigan social studies standards for 8th grade (the ONLY time the Reconstruction Era is addressed in the K-12 MI social studies standards!).
Facing History & Ourselves will facilitate a session to help participants consider the importance of studying Reconstruction and further build their content knowledge of the era. Teachers will leave with a full unit on Reconstruction, which includes practical teaching strategies and curated resources designed for classrooms.
