"Building a Positive and Respectful School Culture Together"
At our school, we're dedicated to making sure every student feels safe, supported, and respected every day. We believe that a positive school culture starts with teaching students how to handle conflicts in healthy ways and helping them build skills for strong, positive relationships.
Here’s how we’re working toward this goal:
Healthy Conflict Resolution: We're guiding students on how to work through disagreements respectfully and constructively. Our aim is to help them resolve conflicts with peers and teachers by finding solutions everyone can agree on.
Mediation Support: When conflicts arise, students have access to mediation. A staff member will help them talk through the issue and find a resolution. We're here to support them through the entire process.
Impact of Social Media: We know that what happens online can sometimes affect school life. We're encouraging students to be mindful of their behavior on social media and to seek help if they need support handling any issues that spill over into the school day.
When students feel safe, they’re more likely to engage, take academic risks, and build meaningful relationships with peers and teachers. A peaceful environment where open communication, mutual respect, and healthy conflict resolution are the norm helps students not only succeed academically but also grow personally.
Together, we're building a culture of respect, safety, and healthy conflict resolution. Thank you for being part of this effort to create a positive environment for all our students.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Marshall, Ms. G, Mrs. Pingel
"Friendly Reminder: Encouraging Punctuality for a Positive School Day"
We’d like to send a friendly reminder about the importance of arriving to class on time and being prepared. Punctuality helps set the tone for a positive and productive learning environment, and to support this, we have a tardy policy in place.
What Does It Mean to Be Tardy?
- If your student arrives up to 10 minutes late to class, they’ll be marked as tardy.
- If they’re more than 10 minutes late, it will be recorded as an unexcused absence for that class.
What Happens if Tardies Add Up?
- If a student has 3 or more tardies in a single day, they’ll have a lunch regroup, where they can reflect on the importance of being on time and come up with strategies to improve.
- If a student accumulates 5 or more tardies in a week, they’ll be assigned a 1-hour session in our After School Restorative Center (ARC).
We truly appreciate your support in helping your student arrive on time, ensuring a smoother, more productive school day for everyone.
Thank you!
- Mrs. Marshall - Principal
- Ms. G - Assistant Principal
- and Mrs. Pingel - Dean of Students
