💰 TIA Stipend Amounts for 2023-2024
Based on 2023-2024 campus allotment amounts, PfISD teachers can earn an additional annual stipend up to $20,242. Teachers who work at campuses with higher socioeconomic need will earn a higher allotment. The amount of the annual allotment for each of the 5-years of the designation period is determined by each designated teacher’s campus location as of the last Friday in February. As such, allotment amounts will vary from year to year within the 5-year designation and compensation period.
The allotments for PfISD campuses linked here apply to PfISD 2022-2023 cohort teachers who will be officially designated in May 2024 (school year 2023-2024 as Designation Year 1) and for any other previously officially designated teacher (Designation Years 2-5) for stipend payout (pending stipend eligibility in August 2024). These stated campus allocations do not include deductions for the 10% district set-aside, deductions based on TRS, or any additional tax withholding deductions, which PfISD will factor into the one-time lump sum stipend payment to the teacher.
As a reminder, designated teachers must continue employment in a PfISD teaching position into the 2024-2025 school year to be eligible to receive a TIA stipend payment in August 2024.
For 2023-2024 cohort teachers (who will receive notice of proposed designation from PfISD in November 2024), these amounts should only be used as estimates, as amounts will change from year to year as TEA recalculates annual allotments every April. For allotment amounts for every campus across the state, see TEA’s Teacher Incentive Allotment Funding Map.
Please reference the PfISD TIA Field Guide for detailed information on the district’s local designation system.
For questions, please contact Karen Shah, Executive Director of Accountability & Compliance at karen.shah@pfisd.net.
✅ TIA Proposed Expansion for 2024-2025
As part of the district’s ongoing consideration and research of TIA system expansion opportunities based on input from district staff, campus administrators and teachers, an expansion application has been submitted to TEA for review.
TEA may approve none, some, or all of the proposed expanded teacher groups. PfISD will receive approval/denial notice from TEA in July 2024 and communicate updates to staff in August 2024.
If fully approved by TEA, PfISD will add 5 new teacher groups as TIA-eligible starting with the 2024-2025 data collection.

Pegasus Enrollment will continue as several locations have open seats.
The purpose of the Pegasus Program is to provide onsite preschool for children of district staff members while also providing preschoolers with disabilities an opportunity to regularly interact with typically-developing peers.
Children of district employees serve as positive role models for the students identified with special needs. This research-based model benefits both groups by providing quality preschool instruction in a supportive, inclusive setting.
Pegasus is open to district employees, substitutes, Aramark employees, and relatives of all three. Visit https://www.pfisd.net/pegasus for more information or click on a link below.

WHS Health and Wellness students participate in Shamrock Shake, Salt, and Sugar lab
What’s better than tasting your learning?! Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day, students in the Applied Nutrition and Dietetics class at Weiss High School wrapped up a unit on diabetes, sugar and salt substitutes, and sodium. They made healthy shamrock shakes and did a sugar/artificial sweetener and salt tasting. Students experienced ways to reduce sugar and salt intake while bravely trying a bright green low-sugar smoothie.
The Health and Wellness program of study is available at Hendrickson, Pflugerville, and Weiss High School campuses. Students interested in careers related to nutrition and diet learn applied nutrition, dietetics, human growth and development and can earn an industry certification in nutrition. There is also an opportunity to join the student organization (FCCLA) and compete in nutrition-related events for awards, develop leadership skills, and apply for scholarships.
Learn more about this and other career and technical education programs in the CTE Program Guide.

📣 Shout Outs from Parents, Students, and Community Members
Melissa Stark of Riojas (via: Preston T.)
Mrs. Stark has constantly gone above in beyond to guide these kindergartens (our daughter included) with real-skills. Our daughter wanted to bring in something to class, but after it was dropped and thought to be a lost cause, Mrs. Stark used it as a learning opportunity for her class while also celebrating all students.
Mrs. Mudd and Ms. Acosta of Spring Hill Elementary School (via: Vicky)
I want to thank Mrs. Mudd and Ms. Acosta for my deepest appreciation for all the hard work you put into making learning engaging, meaningful, and fun. You both go above and beyond to ensure that every child feels valued, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential. Thank you for making a difference in my child's life and for inspiring her to love learning. THANK YOU!!
Mrs. Ana Sanchez of Caldwell Elementary (via: Mary A.)
Mrs.Alvarado.
Lisa Kammerer of Dyslexia (via: Becky E.)
Mrs.Kammerer has been amazing, she is my son’s homebound teacher this year! For a kid that hasn’t had experience in classroom in two years has learned a lot. She is patient and very kind he enjoys his school time even when he is a little wild sometimes, he has learned more this year and we are excited for him to be in school next year! Thank you for being patient, caring and kind to my son!
👏 Pfamily Kudos
- Melanie Silva of Murchison ES (via Jaclyn McComb): Mrs. Silva has such class. Not only is she an amazing gentle, patient teacher to my oldest, but she is been willing to step up in to role as a volunteer to help out the clinic and the students at MES. She has participated in all of the activities after school for staff engagement and is just a kind approachable person with questions related to any situation.
- Frank Muir & Candice McKinley of Cele MS Athletics (via anonymous): Coach Muir and Coach McKinley hosted the first track meet at CMS this year. Even though their facilities are not necessary designed to host a meet, they made it work! Doing "what is best for kids" is a high priority for this staff and the leadership they provide for their coaches is AWESOME! We are super proud of this Cele Colt duo and appreciate what they do for the students of PfISD.
- PHS & PMS Track Coaches of Athletics (via anonymous): The coaching staff of PHS & PMS were "all hands on deck" for the first MS track meet of the year. When they say it takes a village to raise a child, they also meant it takes "a staff to run a track meet". Thank you to all those that worked outside of their area to help pull off the first meet of the year at PHS.
- Gedeon Osambawosamba of Technology (via Lisa Hughes): Gedeon is always so efficient and polite when he comes to our campus or calls to help out with a technology problem. He goes above and beyond to try to make our tech life smooth and to get us back on track if we have an issue. It is a comfort knowing we have someone who is so attentive to our tech problems and is so kind to answer any questions we have in a thoughtful manner. Thanks, Gedeon!
- The Super Mario Bros of maintenance (via Mr. Hartley): The Super Mario Bros saves our campus from potential water damage by maintaining our drinking water systems! We had a drip start from a 3rd party system and they were able prevent potential water damage to cabinets and flooring!!
- The Super Mario Bros of Maintenance (via Guzmon): We started a campus garden for the students to work on and they helped supply us with water to help with our gardening!
- Michelle Jaramillo of Weiss High School/Sped (via Zack Krasuk): Ms. J goes out of her way to make sure all inclusion and non inclusion students succeed. She's an extremely hardworking teacher! Her help has been invaluable this year.
- Philip Welder of Specials-Music (specifically Choir) (via Allyson Patterson): Mr. Welder has exhibited matchless dedication to the Mott Elementary Choir program. He has gone beyond the call of duty as it relates to practices and performances. Our students have shown immense growth in their perseverance and professionalism as performers. I am in awe and inspired by his hardworking nature. "Congratulations", Mr. Welder on a fantastic year and "Job Well Done!"
- Heather Martinez, Sandra Sebesta, Desi Sauceda, Rebecca Embry, Sherri Vigil, Dina Schaefer, Emma Manaway of KLMS (via Jordan James): I want to make sure this group of people knows how truly appreciated they are. It's incredibly difficult to be a teacher while life wants to throw everything at you all at once. My administration, counselors, and sub coordinator have been there for me every step of the way to make sure I KNOW I am supported. They don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk and go above and beyond to make sure I am taken care of. It's teams like these, with their unwavering support, who allow me to show up every day (especially in recent weeks, when showing up has gotten harder). Thank you, so much, for making sure I am supported enough to truly be the best version of myself for these amazing kids!
- Jamie Eckert of Cele (via Anonymous): Ms. Eckert brings 100% every day to school. She cares deeply about making sure that each child gets what he/she needs. She is compassionate, caring, kind, and one of the hardest workers that I have ever worked with. Thank you, Ms. Eckert!
