Living and Learning with Respect
Wednesday 4 April
Wasn't it wonderful to have such a long break over Easter? Staff are definitely feeling slightly more refreshed than they may have towards the end of other terms.
Athletic Sports
Athletic Sports are on Monday 9th April at Toko School. Postponement day is Tuesday 10th April. Children have been put into across school year groups and will rotate with their group through the events beginning at 9.30am. As we are required to assemble at Toko by 9.15am we ask that all children be at school before 8.45am as buses will be departing school at 8.55am. Please notify the school if your child is not attending school that day to avoid us waiting! Cost of buses is $3. This will be added to your account if not paid prior. Please note, if you had paid for Junior Swimming which was cancelled, the amount paid will be carried over to cover Athletics.
Postponement notice will be posted on facebook, advised by txt message and as a message on our phone.
Winter Sports
By now you will have received notification re your child's chosen winter sport and fees associated with each team. Please pay sports fees before the end of term. Practices will commence this term. Thank you to those who have offered to coach teams.
EPro 8 Challenge
Our Year 7/ 8 team of Charlotte, Luci, Jack & Zack are primed and ready to take on the EPro8 Challenge tomorrow evening at Stratford Primary School. This will be the second year they have worked as a team to compete. The Yr 7 / 8 event is tomorrow (Thursday) 5.00pm.
Our Year 5/6 team of Millie, Holly, Wyatt & Blake will compete on Friday morning at 9.30am also at Stratford Primary School. Good luck to both teams.
EPro8 is an engineering, problem solving race where team members work together to create structures that meet certain criteria. It is a lot of fun to watch as the teams figure out how to tackle the challenges. Spectators are welcome at both events.
PTA Fundraiser
The potatoes need to be dug! A (hopefully) final dig tomorrow at 10am. Please note, the tractor does the digging...we do the picking up! Still plenty to sell - $2 per kg. Easy to scrape, fresh tasting, firm jersey benne potatoes, not too big, not too small! Thank you to Lisa who sold bags at Saturday's Market in Stratford and again, to Kelly who is the coordinator of the project.
PTA AGM
Wednesday 7pm in the staffroom. All welcome.
Congratulations
To Kate & Will Brown on the birth of their gorgeous son, Henry.
To Finn L - National BMX competition in NP in the weekend, 1st 5 & under. Way to go Finn!
An Apology
Apologies to Matt of Central Taranaki Football who was working with children from the junior rooms last week. He was definitely promoting Girls' Football, not cricket!
