September 20, 2024
Hello NMS Families,
NMS is a hopping place after school as activities, sports, and clubs are getting underway. You can hear the cast of our musical rehearsing on the stage. Our cross country runners are outside on the course. The girls field hockey team is working hard on the high school fields. Student Council and Best Buddies met for the first time this week and both groups had fantastic turnouts. The first session of our after school program, CLASP, will start on Monday, September 30. These clubs offer something for everyone and will meet once a week for six weeks. Each session will offer different clubs for students. CLASP is first come, first serve! Registration information is below.
We strongly encourage every student to get involved in at least one activity within our school community. Whether it's joining a club, participating in sports, or being part of a musical production, these experiences help students build connections, develop important life skills, and enhance their overall school experience. At the same time, we also support and value students' involvement in activities outside of school, as these contribute to their growth, broaden their horizons, and enrich their lives beyond the classroom. Balancing school and outside interests can help students become well-rounded individuals.
Thank you for your support in encouraging your students active participation! Next week, all students in the district will participate in Spirit Week in celebration of homecoming at the high school. Join in the fun! Details are below.
Kind regards,
Lauren Young and Evan Worth

Tools in the Paleolithic Era
Mrs. Greelis' history class is learning about turning points in the Paleolithic Era. They learned that tool making is an important turning point. Students used soap and rocks to make their own tools just like the Paleolithic people!
Field Hockey Update
Shout out to the NMS & HBMS Field Hockey team for an incredible effort yesterday! The girls played their hearts out and put on an amazing performance, narrowly falling 1-0. We’re so proud of their hard work and dedication!
