Saturday School: December 7th
Saturday School allows students to make up absences by attending school on Saturday. Students are expected to remain on campus from 8:00am to 12:00pm and can use the time to make up missing work and in turn, boost their grades. Saturday School can also be used to reduce Loss of Privilege Points. Our last Saturday School session of the semester is December 7th; click HERE to sign up!
Attendance Updates: Please Read
- First, please welcome our new Attendance Technician Aubree Bogart to the Orange Nation!
- An attendance email has been created to help process excused absences; you can email vhs-attendance@guhsd.net or continue to leave a message at 619-593-5333
- The attendance office has been moved from the 2nd floor of the building to the 3rd floor, right next to the Front Desk. This change will help us process all visitors on campus at one central location.
Norse Star Program Honors Students
Every quarter, staff are honoring Norse Stars - students on campus that exemplify the Norse Code: “Cooperation, Ownership, Diligence, Empowerment.”
Students may be recognized for the hard work and effort put forth in the pursuit of good grades, rewarded for their service or kindness to others, leadership on campus, or for displays of honor while facing difficult choices/circumstances.
Please join us in celebrating this quarter’s Norse Stars:

College Application Help
FAFSA/CADAA
The FAFSA and CADAA financial aid applications are officially open! Counselors will be visiting seniors in their Government/Economics classes this week and next to help them get started. If students are US citizens or permanent residents, they should be filling out the FAFSA. If not, they should fill out the CADAA. Students filling out the FAFSA will need their Social Security Number to create an FSA ID and start the application process, so please have it ready when we come into classes.
