THANK YOU, FAMILIES, FOR THE APPRECIATION WEEK CELEBRATIONS & GOODIES!
Student Chromebook Safety
San Diego Unified School District Schools have seen several incidents over the past week involving students putting pencil lead or some other conductive material into the USB port on Chromebooks. This causes a short in the Chromebook, resulting in smoke and the potential for fire. It also renders the laptop inoperable. Apparently, this is a TikTok trend that many schools are facing right now.
This action creates a serious safety hazard. Any student intentionally damaging their Chromebook, or the Chromebook of another student, will face disciplinary action and be financially responsible for any damages to school property. We are asking that parents address this with their students to remind them of appropriate Chromebook care.
