Dear Cedars Families,


Cedars International Academy sincerely THANKS you for joining us at our fantastic Hispanic Heritage Celebration! We extend a special appreciation to the families and businesses who generously contributed food for the potluck. A big shout out to the Dream Team—Liz Evers, Anslee Connell, and Coach Gonzalez—for their outstanding coordination of the spectacular performance. We’re also grateful to all the teachers, students, parents, Apple volunteers, and everyone else who made this event such a success!

Congratulations to Coach Cyphers and the volleyball team for their exceptional performance this year! We invite you to support us at our next game against KIPP on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 5:30 PM. The game will be held at 8509 FM 969 Bldg 676, Austin, TX 78724. GO JAGUARS!


There will be a mandatory cheer parent meeting for new and returning cheerleaders on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria. Returning cheerleaders should bring their cheer uniform top for embroidery. We welcome new students in grades K-8 to join the Cedars Jaguar Cheer Squad!


We are immensely proud of our readers and thankful for your support, which has made our fundraiser successful. So far, we've raised over $3,915, aiming for over $10,000, which is ONLY $25 per student. Our Read-A-Thon Fundraiser has been extended until October 4, 2024. Students who shared their pages with ten families and friends will receive a NUT day pass, scheduled for Thursday, September 26, 2024.

The PTO is hosting a Chuck E. Cheese Family Night on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM until closing at 10515 N Mopac Expy, Austin, TX 78759. We can’t wait to see you there! Please remember to mention that you're with Cedars International Academy.

🏫 PTO Read-A-Thon

Dates: September 1 - October 4, 2024

Kick-Off Date: September 1, 2024
Goal: Read 30 min/daily & Raise $50/student


GOALS

The Cedars Jaguar Partners (PTO) is proud to announce the return of the Read-A-Thon Fundraiser! We want ALL students to develop a love of reading for pleasure, knowledge, and adventure. We are launching a fundraiser that supports our school and each student's personal reading development goal. This fundraiser will support teacher and classroom needs and school improvement projects.


HOW IT WORKS

Pledge to encourage reading and raise money for our school. In our Read-A Thon, students will read or be read to as much as possible for four weeks. Students will log minutes read for chances to win some prizes.

Every day beginning September 3 through September 30, students will earn money by reading books. Students have a web page where sponsors can make a flat donation. Help us reach our goal by raising at least $50 in pledges to support our $20,000 goal!

Scan the QR Code on the student registration form. Share the QR code with friends, family, and your community.


HOW TO MAKE A PLEDGE

FLAT DONATION - You can sponsor a student with a flat amount. You decide the amount! This can be done online or by filling out the paper pledge form.


READING TRACKER

Students will complete an online reading log from September 3- October 4.

PTO Informational Meeting - Bilingual/ESL

Join us to witness our outstanding students perform at the Hispanic Heritage Celebration. Before the event, we will share Bilingual/ESL information. Free potluck dinner will be provided. Free transportation will be provided from Walmart, 1030 Norwood Park, at 5:30 pm.
