Thank you for preparing your scholars so well for the I-Ready diagnostic. Now that we’ve completed testing, we’re ready to dive deeper into our curriculum!
For Math 7, we’ll be continuing our work on scale drawings and scale factors as we progress through lessons 6-9. In Math 8, students will focus on lessons 8-11, reviewing the rules for transformations on a grid and understanding the attributes of figures after transformation.
This week, students will be expected to complete and pass at least one I-Ready lesson for homework, in addition to their weekly assignment on PEAR. Please remind your scholar to stay on top of both!
Science with Ms Baker - (she/her) - Room RG02- Email: christine.baker@k12.dc.gov

Hello! We spent this week completing a writing diagnostic. The purpose of the diagnostic is to assess your student's current writing skills and identify where support is needed. The students were given blurbs about four candidates and prompted to choose a new leader for society. The students demonstrated their reading, annotating, and writing skills.
Next Week:
Monday: Unit Launch
Tuesday: Native Americans Overview
Wednesday: Native American Tribes
Thursday: European Exploration (Motivations)
Friday: European Exploration (Interactions)
English with Mr Williams - (he/him) - Room RG04 - Email: charles.williams3@k12.dc.gov
This week in ELA 7 we will be exploring the Hero's Journey and beginning our reading of the book The Eye, the Ear, and the Arm by Nancy Farmer. Students will analyze the exposition of the text for character and setting and begin to determine the central conflict.
