Raney ROCKs Newsletter 8/1/24

Greetings Raney Knight Families,

Summer vacation is almost over and school is about to begin.

The Raney Staff is excited to get the 2024-2025 School Year started!

Our Orientation Day is Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 9:30-11:30 am.

On Orientation Day, we will be handing out schedules, textbooks, temporary ID badges, and selling important items. Also, our counselors will be providing campus tours to help you become acquainted with Raney. Parents are welcomed and strongly encouraged to attend. Please enter through our WEST GATE (next to our parking lot). Look for signs directing you to the MPR where students will start the orientation process.

PE clothes $20, Raney SWAG $10-$25, and Yearbooks $30 will available for purchase. We only accept CASH.

The school year starts on August 13, 2024 with gates opening at 7:30am.

Class is daily from 8:00am to 2:23pm and from 8:00-1:23 on Early-out Wednesdays.

Picture Day is August 15, 2024. This picture will also be used for your ID Card and will also appear on the Yearbook.

Principal's Message

Dear Raney Families and Community,

My name is Ana M. Luna and I am the proud Principal here at Letha Raney Intermediate. At Raney, we are all fully committed to doing what is best for all of our students. We have a strong village and work collaboratively with our families and community to do whatever it takes to ensure that all students are successful both socially and academically.

Research shows that the middle-level years are some of the most challenging times in a person's life. At Raney, we understand the importance of balancing a challenging academic program with addressing the social-emotional and self-esteem needs of the students. We are extremely committed to implementing programs that afford children the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

On this newsletter, we hope you will find this information to be a great resource. Please check the newsletter bi-weekly for upcoming information about school-wide programs, announcements, bulletins, and activities. Daily Raney Schedule

Please ensure that students arrive with enough time to make it to their classroom by 8am.

Gates open at 7:30am

Phone and Earbuds Policy

We expect that phones and earbuds are in backpacks once students enter campus. Phones and earbuds should remain in backpack until after they leave through the gate after dismissal.

Our Raney school swag enhances school safety, pride, unity, and community spirit. Let’s show our Knight pride and let everyone know that Raney ROCKs!

We highly encourage our Raney swag and will be celebrating students who wear it with incentives. The more you wear it the more positivity at our school!

Visit the school office if you need to purchase your Raney Swag.

No Drop Off

In order to ensure school safety, drop-offs in the front office are not accepted. Students will not be called out of class to collect drop-offs. No food deliveries accepted. Thank you in advance for keeping our front office a place of business.

ID Badges

Students must have their ID Badges available to display at all times. When entering campus when gates open at 7:30am, all students are required to show their ID as part of our keeping our campus secure.

2024-25 Picture ID badges will be handed out to all students once fall pictures are taken. Until then, students will be given a temporary ID at Orientation. These are the ones that must be displayed.

ID Badges are also used to reward students for their positive actions and showing Raney ROCKs expectations. These points can then be used at our Raney Student Store.

No Early Release

We will not process or call up students for early releases after 1:24pm or 12:34pm on Wednesdays. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please plan ahead for things like doctors and dentists appointments to ensure that you are able to pick them up before the cut-off time.
