Greenhouse Groundbreaking!
TCMS made the news again!
Tates Creek Middle held a groundbreaking for a new outdoor classroom in partnership with KSU and Fayette County Public Schools on Tuesday, December 3. The outdoor classroom and greenhouse are a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our AgriScience students. Under the leadership of their teachers, Mr. Parham and Ms. Dallas, the students took ownership of their education, worked together with our community, and partnered with the Office of Innovation and Kentucky State University to make this dream a reality.
The Outdoor Classroom was made possible through a grant awarded by the Farm Credit Mid-America to provide a site for students to experience classroom-type lectures and practical farming activities. In addition, students will receive hands-on training on topics such as post-harvest safe handling of food, sales of food, and farm financial management.
We look forward to seeing the fruits of our labor. The ribbon cutting will be announced in 2025.
