Lake Bluff Elementary School Family Newsletter
Dear Lake Bluff Families,
It was wonderful to see so many of you at conferences! A special thank you to the PTO and families for the amazing snacks – they were a delightful treat for our staff during those long days.
We have a couple of exciting events just around the corner. First, there’s Halloween – a student favorite – which we’ll celebrate with our Character Parade at 1:25 PM on Wednesday, October 30th. Parents may watch from outside. If we need to cancel due to inclement weather, we will notify families via email.
Please also note that there is No School for Lake Bluff students on November 5th due to the election. Here is a message from Patti Foley, a School-Based Mental Health Therapist at Children’s Hospital who works with our district. She offers advice on how to support children during election season and has included a thought-provoking article for further reflection.
Another exciting event is our Open House on November 7th. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to welcome family and friends into our school, showcase their classrooms, and share some of their recent learning.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Johanna French, Interim Principal

Cary Liao
Mr. Liao is our head custodian and as you look around Lake Bluff, you can see he takes great pride in the work that he does. Mr. Liao was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to Wisconsin with his wife. He loves Wisconsin, especially the change of seasons.
Mr. Liao's Fun Fact: Mr. Liao is an avid tennis player and has been playing for the last 30 years. Feel free to challenge him to a match, I am sure he would love it.
