Thanksgiving Prayer
In Memoriam
From The Principal
Thanksgiving is a time for all of us to give thanks for the loving family members and friends in our lives. It is a time to remember the happy moments we all share in life and to give thanks for the wonderful experiences we have each day. We encourage our students every day to love their family and friends and to be active peacemakers. It is apparent with recent events in our world that we all need to be on alert and to continue with our daily activities. Let us pray for peace in our homes, school, local community, and our global community.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in our school community a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
Kindergarten Open House
On December 2nd we will have our Kindergarten Open House. If you know of anyone wishing to send their kindergarten-age child to All Souls, please let them know of this event. They can enter via the front door on the corner of Spruce St. and Miller Ave.
Annex - Free Rummage Goods for All
We wish to remove all the chairs, furniture, beds and mattresses along with chest of drawers from the top floor of the Annex. To achieve this we will open it up for our parents to come and choose and take what they might like. This will happen on Wednesday, December 2nd from 2.30pm to 5pm. If you cannot make this time, please call the school and we can make an alternative day. On December 14th the Salvation Army will be coming to take what they can of what remains.
Shield the Vulnerable - Renewal
You may have received an email from Mrs. Cierra regarding your renewal of "Shield the Vulnerable". A new law has been enacted which now requires volunteers and staff to renew the "Shield" every three years. This will mean you will need to take the training again. When you receive your notification we will give you two weeks to renew, otherwise your volunteer status will become inactive, and you will not be able to work with the children in any capacity including the sports program , room parents, or any volunteer services.
Book Fair
The Book Fair begins after we come back from Thanksgiving. It will be held in the church hall this year. Please encourage your family members and friends to attend the book fair. All proceeds will be going back into your child's classroom. Volunteers are needed - please see the attachment.
Wireless Network
The WiFi network ceased working with classroom APs dying. We had the system checked out and were advised to revamp our current system with a newer one. I am pleased to say that we have signed the work order to have the old system removed and replaced with the latest WiFi technology from Ruckus, a true tested system in educational institutions. We anticipate the system replacement to be completed within two weeks. The cost for the replacement system, including all cabling replacement to Cat 6 and new AP’ in all rooms and the Annex, will be $16,000.00.
Veterans' Day
The Veterans' Day Prayer service was a memorable occasion for the community. It was very thoughtfully done. We received many compliments about it.
Staffing
The music teacher resigned from Rhythm and Moves, which means she will not be continuing at All Souls. A temporary teacher is working with the students while Rhythm and Moves finds a permanent. The Spanish teacher also resigned from her company and a replacement has already been found and is currently working with our students.
God Bless,
Vincent Riener
Principal

School Raffle
The annual school raffle has started! Per your school agreement, each family is required to sell $50.00 worth of raffle tickets. We are asking you to sell twelve tickets, but if you’d like to sell more please don’t hesitate to ask the office for more tickets.
Your child(ren) will receive a free dress pass for every five tickets sold. For example, if a family sells fifteen tickets, your child will receive three free dress passes. If you have more than one child at the school, each child will receive dress passes. All free dress passes will be distributed by mid-February.
The raffle starts today and ends on January 29, 2016. All money and tickets stubs are to be turned into the school office by that date. Free dress passes will be given out to those students that return their tickets and money by the deadline.
The drawing will be held on February 1, 2016 at the Principal’s Awards Ceremony!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
