Thanksgiving Gratitude
As Thanksgiving approaches, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for our school community. Your support and dedication to our Warrior family make Walled Lake Western a special place.
This short break from school is a great time to relax, recharge, and spend time with loved ones. Let’s use this season to connect with one another and reflect on what we have to be thankful for.
Wishing you and your families a happy and restful Thanksgiving. Thank you for being an important part of our Warrior family!

Welcome Mr. Bob Furca
Assistant Principal & Building Athletic Coordinator, Ms. Sara Facemyer has begun her maternity leave and will be away until March. In her absence, we are delighted to welcome back Mr. Bob Furca!
Mr. Furca is a highly respected and familiar face in our district, bringing over 47 years of experience in education. Before his retirement, he served as Principal at both Walled Lake Elementary and Loon Lake Elementary. This marks his fourth long-term administrative role here at Western, and we are thrilled to have his expertise and leadership once again supporting our students and staff.
Please join me in giving Mr. Furca a warm welcome back to Walled Lake Western!
As we approach December, here are a few important reminders for our senior students and their families:
- College Applications: Seniors should have completed their college applications by now. If your student still needs assistance, please reach out to the counseling office for support.
- Financial Aid: It's time to begin the Financial Aid process! Both students and parents must create an FSA ID. This is required for the FAFSA application, which will open in December. To get started, visit FSA ID instructions. It’s strongly recommended that all families complete the FAFSA to be eligible for federal and state aid, as well as scholarships.
- Local Legacy Scholarships: The application for Local Legacy Scholarships opens Monday, November 18th! These scholarships are available exclusively to Walled Lake students. Encourage your senior to apply for as many scholarships as possible to help with their post-secondary education.
As always, if you have any questions or need assistance, don't hesitate to contact the counseling office. We’re here to help!
Also, for ALL students, please take advantage of the after-school tutoring programs to help any student who is struggling. We have teacher led tutoring and NHS sponsored tutors available!
After School Tutoring
We are excited to announce that we have expanded AFTER SCHOOL TUTORING. No sign-up or cost required. Transportation is NOT provided.
Classes of 2027 and 2028
Breakfast @ Western
Walled lake Western provides breakfast FREE of charge for all students! Breakfast needs to be eaten before going to class, or placed in the backpack for a later time. With the new building, students are not allowed to eat in class. Please be sure that students arrive in time to get breakfast and eat BEFORE going to class.
Class of 2025 Fundraiser - Poker Night!
We have secured a license for a Poker Fundraiser! This will be VERY profitable for the Class of 2025. In the past, the seniors have raised over $2000 for a two day event! Money raised will go to the Senior Class Prom at Henry Ford Museum.
In order to make this fundraiser a go, we need parent help to hand out chips and handle the cash at the event. Event will be held at Vision Lanes in Westland, MI
