Sinaloa Sabers Weekly Update 9/22
Boys and Girls Basketball Practice, NJHS Induction Ceremony
Good Evening All Sinaloa Families,
Our STEP IT UP Fundraiser is in it's last week and many of our students and their families have been participating in this fundraiser. This is our only fundraiser for the year so please encourage your students to participate so they can earn the Day of Awesomeness and many other amazing prizes before this Wednesday, 9/25. Please look at the attachment for more details. We will also have our NJHS Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 24th at 6:00 PM in the Amphitheater. We will have another Spirit day on Friday, Sept. 27th. Please dress like a twin or twins on Friday or you can dress in black and twin with everyone.
All of our students have had the rules and policies explained to them during the second week of school. We also discussed the requirements for promotion with our 8th graders. If you would like to view the rules and policy presentation so you can review those with your child please use this link.
You can also find our rules and policies in our handbook which is located in our Agenda books or on our website. Please be sure to review our dress code, tardy policy, and the criteria to be eligible to participate in assemblies and activities this year. We have many exciting events planned for our students and we want them to be eligible to participate in those events. If there are any parents that still need help accessing Aeries to complete your Data Confirmation or to sign the Sinaloa Student Handbook form, please contact the main office for help @ 805 520 - 6830
Royal High School has a Code of Conduct for their Football games. One of the items on the Code of Conduct is that all elementary and middle school students must be accompanied by an adult. Middle School students without an adult will NOT be allowed into the game.
SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL - It is time once again to ask for individuals that want to volunteer for Sinaloa's School Site Council. This council is made up of five parents and five employees and we meet 4 times a year. We discuss the school safety plan, the school site plan and goals. We make sure our goals tie into SVUSD's district goals. If you are interested in putting your name in as a possible member please email Mr. Rumble mailto:shawn.rumble@simivalleyusd.org. If we have more volunteers than positions we will hold an election to choose our parent representatives. Parents this is another great way to get involved.
- Mr. Rumble
All of our events are on the Sinaloa Middle School Public School Calendar: If you would like to add this to you own Google calendar or Apple calendar here are links.

PARKING LOT (DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES )
Please adhere to these Parking Lot procedures so we can get all of our students to and from school in a safe and organized fashion. Don't forget the two back gates will also be open at 7 AM Tuesday - Friday. Those gates will open at 8:00 AM on Monday.
Drop Off: We will allow parents to use the two lanes closest to the school, but students should exit with extreme caution. We will also utilize the lane near Royal Ave.
Pick Up: We will ONLY use the one lane closest to the school for pick up so busses and other vehicles may exit once they have their students. We will still utilize the lane closest to Royal, but please try to find a parking spot if you are waiting for an extended time for your student.
Click HERE for the Parking Lot Map.
Save those POP/PULL TABS - During the month of September, Sinaloa's NJHS chapter will be collecting pop tabs from your cans. Pop tabs can will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House - Los Angeles. RMH recycles these tabs and uses the proceeds to help fund their mission to provide a home away from home for families whose children are undergoing critical care at local hospitals. Pop tabs can be turned in to Mrs. Gerfen in D-24 or dropped in collection bins throughout campus. Please contact Mrs. Gerfen (sarah.gerfen@simivalleyusd.org) with questions.
