Dear Morris Families,
What a fantastic week we had at Morris! Our students were engaged in so many exciting activities. On Wednesday, we were thrilled to welcome students from the LMMHS Student Council for National Read Aloud Day, alongside some parents who joined individual classrooms for reading. Friday brought even more fun as students participated in Global Play Day, creating masterpieces with boxes and Legos, enjoying the Rhythms of Brazil: A Journey Through Traditional Musical Instruments performance by the Berkshire Music School, thinking like scientists during the Playful Engineers Chain Reactions experiment, and using their artistic skills to design creative paw prints.
As we approach the week before our winter break, we are excited to continue spreading kindness by lining our hallways with kindness hearts. This week’s PTO meeting will also be a special Parent and Guardian Social. Please scroll down for more details and the invitation.
Valentine’s Day Reminder
With Valentine's Day approaching, I want to remind families that when purchasing Valentine’s cards for your child’s classroom, please do not include food or candy. Several students have food allergies, and we want to ensure a safe and inclusive celebration for all. Paper Valentines are the best option.
Information sessions about the LMMHS Building Project.
Parents are invited to attend an Information Session about the LMMHS Building Project. These sessions will provide an opportunity to learn more about the project, including the process, finances, and timelines. Each session will also include a brief tour and time for questions.
The sessions will be held on the following dates in the LMMHS Library:
- Thursday, February 27 at 6:00 PM
- Wednesday, March 26 at 6:00 PM
- Monday, April 28 at 6:00 PM
We hope to see you there!
A Message from Nurse Shove
State is requesting notice
Dear Parents,
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) would like all schools to keep their agency informed of any increases of GI illnesses, so that they can be alerted to a possible outbreak. A GI illness is referring to diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, or abdominal cramps. When you contact the school regarding a student absence due to an illness, could you please let the nurse or the front office know what symptoms your child may be having. If illness information is not relayed to the health office then it will be difficult for us to determine if an outbreak is occurring in our school community. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Nurse Shove at 413/637-5570 ext 2.
Friendly reminder to contact the attendance line at 413-637-5570 if your child is out sick.
