Hats on For Mental Health - May 8
Mental Health Week takes place May 6-12. To mark the week, Mills Haven Elementary School has a series of activities and lessons planned for students, all centred on Mental Health Week’s theme, “Compassion Connects.” We all have the capacity to be compassionate, and we know that doing so can make an enormous difference. Hats On! for Mental Health Day will take place on May 8. Mills Haven students are invited to wear a hat on May 8 to raise awareness of the importance of good mental health

School Council - Notice of Annual General Meeting
We would like to inform all parents/guardians/caregivers of Mills Haven School students that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Election for Mills Haven School Council will be held on Tuesday, May 21 at 6:00 p.m. at Mills Haven School. The School Council plays an important role in supporting the school and enhancing the educational experience of our students, and your participation is highly encouraged.
At the AGM, the School Council will provide updates on its activities, review the financial report, and discuss plans for the upcoming school year. In addition, there will be an election for all positions on the School Council. The School Council positions are.

- Secretary
- Communications
- Community Engagement Liaison
- Events Coordinator
- German Culture Coordinator
- Members-at-large
For more information on each of the council positions please click here. If you are interested in running for a position on the School Council, please submit your nomination in writing to the school office by Tuesday, May 14. Nominations can also be made during the AGM. All caregivers of Mills Haven School students are eligible to run for a position on the school council. All caregivers are eligible to vote in the school council election but must be present at the Annual General Meeting to do so.

THANK YOU! Bus Driver Appreciation Day is May 6
Join us on May 6 as we recognize and thank our school bus operators for keeping the safety of our students their first priority. We encourage you, and your children, to take a moment to say thanks to our bus operators—who go above and beyond to provide safe and timely transportation to our students.

Carnival Volunteers Needed
We are in need of caregiver volunteers to help run a successful School Carnival in the afternoon on Tuesday June 25th. We'd like to fill roles in various carnival stations, White Elephant Sale, prizes/redemption, classroom volunteers, and more. If you are available and would like to volunteer for any amount of time whether it's 30 minutes or 3 hours, please let us know. Complete your census online starting May 1, 2024
The 2024 municipal census begins May 1. Watch your mail in late April for your personalized PIN number. We strongly encourage residents to use the online platform for its efficiency, convenience, and security.
Starting May 13, our dedicated census workers will conduct door-to-door collection for households that have not yet participated, while the online option remains open throughout this period.
