What is HOBY?
The Hugh O’Brien Leadership (HOBY) is a State Leadership Seminar that is an opportunity for a sophomore student to gain valuable leadership skills.
The seminar is designed for sophomore students who may not be involved with student government but still exhibit leadership qualities and desire to hone their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, workplace, and community.

Santiago Speech and Debate Team
On Saturday Nov. 18 the Santiago Speech & Debate team competed at a league meet at Chaffey High School. The following students earned honors:
Julian Rose won the varsity Original Oratory speaking category
Asha Zachariah won the novice Original Oratory speaking category
Michelle Quinonez finished 2nd in the varsity Informative speaking category
Sara Qadri finished 3rd in the varsity extemporaneous speaking category
Maryam Jamshaid finished 3rd in the varsity informative speaking category
Jinu Zachariah finished 3rd in the novice Informative speaking category
Ethan Atchley finished 4th in the novice Lincoln Douglas debate category

Nov.1 thru Dec. 7th; Shark Time Trials Dec. 9th (8:30-1pm)
Tues/Thurs: 4-5:30pm
Sprint Mechanics, Plyometrics, Agility/Mobility drills, and some specific event training.
Wednesday: 4-5:30pm

Care Solace
- Care Solace is an online resource with a live 24x7 concierge line meant to assist individuals in finding local mental health-related programs and counseling services.
- To use Care Solace, individuals answer ten basic questions in order to receive an extensive list of referrals to applicable care providers. Care Solace takes into account all types of private insurance including Medi-Cal, Medicaid, and Medicare and those that have no insurance. The system also filters by age, gender, zip code, and special request.
- Care Solace is now available for use by CNUSD students, staff, and families at no cost. Please note, this service is an optional resource available by choice and is not mandatory in any way. Care Solace does not require a user’s name, address, phone number, or date of birth.
