A Note From Our Leader!
Dear Bellingrath Middle School Families,
As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt appreciation for your continued support and partnership in making this a wonderful school year. Together, we have seen significant academic growth and positive strides in student behavior. These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of our teachers, staff, and students, as well as the vital role you, as parents and guardians, play in their success.
I am pleased to share that our students have made great progress in their academics, and we have also seen a marked decrease in disciplinary issues. This improvement reflects the hard work of everyone in our school community, and we are excited to continue building on this momentum in the coming months.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education and development. I wish you all a peaceful, restful holiday season, and look forward to another successful year ahead.
Warm regards,
Dr. Mary Holloway, Principal

Celebrating Success at Bellingrath Middle School
Celebrating Success at Bellingrath Middle School: A Spotlight on Our PBIS Store
At Bellingrath Middle School, we are always looking for innovative ways to recognize and reward the hard work and positive behavior of our students. One of the most exciting aspects of our school culture is our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) store, where students have the opportunity to exchange earned points for a variety of fun and engaging rewards. This initiative is a key part of our commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, where students are motivated to demonstrate respect, responsibility, and resilience.
This year, we’ve taken things a step further by offering our dedicated teachers the chance to participate in the PBIS store as well! In a refreshing twist, teachers who consistently demonstrate excellence in fostering a positive environment for learning were awarded PBIS points, allowing them to "shop" at the PBIS store alongside our students. It’s been a fun and meaningful way to show appreciation for the hard work of our staff and highlight the collaborative spirit of our school community.
From students to teachers, everyone has had the opportunity to engage with the PBIS store, reinforcing our shared commitment to kindness, good behavior, and academic excellence. The excitement and participation in the store have fostered a greater sense of unity, and we look forward to expanding this initiative as the year continues.
The PBIS store is just one of the many ways we strive to create an environment where both students and staff can thrive, and we are so proud of the positive impact it continues to have on our school community.

Supporting Our Scholars in Math: The AMSTI Parent Success Guide
As parents and guardians, one of the most impactful roles we play in our children's education is providing support in their learning journey, especially in subjects like math. The AMSTI (Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative) Parent Success Guide is a valuable resource designed to help us foster our scholars' mathematical skills without overwhelming them.
What is the AMSTI Parent Success Guide?
The AMSTI Parent Success Guide offers practical tools, strategies, and resources aimed at enhancing our understanding of math concepts that our children are learning in school. It emphasizes collaborative learning, encouraging us to engage with our children in meaningful ways that promote confidence and curiosity in mathematics.
How Can Parents Use the Guide?
Understanding the Curriculum: The guide breaks down key math concepts by grade level, making it easier for us to understand what our children are learning and how we can reinforce these ideas at home.
Practical Activities: It includes hands-on activities and games that we can do together, turning learning into a fun and interactive experience. These activities are designed to help our children apply mathematical concepts in real-world scenarios.
Tips for Encouragement: The guide provides tips on how to create a positive learning environment, encouraging our children to explore and ask questions without fear of making mistakes.
Resources for Further Learning: It also points us to additional resources, such as websites and community programs, where we can find more support and information.
The Importance of Parental Involvement
Research shows that when parents are involved in their children's education, students tend to perform better academically. By utilizing the AMSTI Parent Success Guide, we not only help our children succeed in math but also strengthen our own understanding and confidence in the subject.
Let’s approach math together with enthusiasm and support, making learning a positive experience for our scholars. Remember, it’s not about perfection; it’s about fostering a love for learning and helping our children build a strong foundation in mathematics.
