The Accelerated Programs are expected to be paid at the Summer School Rate: $31/hr. This is a fast-paced, disciplined program—that runs for 16 days from 8-4pm, Monday thru Thursday—during June only. We will be offering Geometry and Physics only.

Dr. Emmett J. Conrad High School Key Actions for 2017-2018 Campus Improvement

Key Action 1

The number of English I & II testers meeting "Approaches" level of performance will increase by 10% by May 2018


Key Action 2

The math department will increase Algebra I EOC scores by a minimum of :

5% on assessment data,15% in mastery, 10% increase on STAAR Retester success, and ACPs will increase by a minimum of 5%.



Key Action 3

The science department will increase Biology EOC scores by a minimum of 5% on STAAR Assessment Data, mastery will increase by 15%, LEP student success will increase by 15%, and ACP Average scores will increase by a minimum of 5%


Key Action 4

The Social Studies Department will increase U.S. History EOC Scores by a minimum of 5% on STAAR Assessment Data, mastery will increase by 35%, and semester ACP average scores will increase by a minimum of 5%.

Dallas ISD Student Achievement Goals

  1. All students will exhibit satisfactory or above performance on state assessments. Students below satisfactory performance will demonstrate more than one year of academic growth.
  2. Dallas ISD schools will be the primary choice for families in the district.
  3. The achievement gap by race, ethnicity and socio-economic status will be no greater than 10 percentage points on all academic measures.
  4. Ninety-five percent of students will graduate. Ninety percent of the graduates will qualify for community college, college, military, or industry certification.
  5. Ninety-five percent of students entering kindergarten will be school-ready based on a multidimensional assessment.
  6. All students will participate in at least one extracurricular or co-curricular activity each year.

This Week's Instructional Focus: Indicator 2.2 - Mastery & Checks for Understanding

Here are some things to keep in mind while attacking this indicator

1.) Monitor progress towards mastery by utilizing whole group checks for understanding

2.) Provide timely feedback to your students

3.) Adjust and reteach lessons according to data acquired from Checks for Understanding.

Kudos to Ms. Ulloa for working hard to make the JP Morgan Chase trip a reality. Our students were thankful!

On a Personal Note: Iron Sharpens Iron

This past weekend I had an opportunity to meet lunch with my niece Destynee, you know my favorite person in the world! I can't believe how much she is growing, her team lost the state basketball championship, she had a minor accident in her car, and is struggling in her math class. Her calm demeanor about it all really assured me that we are raising a very responsible young lady, she already has a plan to get her grade up and explained to me the importance of her punishment. She will be 17 in December and is thinking of attending Mississippi State University like her uncle. Its like the time is flying! I thought we had more time (lol). On another note, I attended my first accountability walk with early college leadership and am now preparing for ours here on 4/18. I enjoyed the time catching up with one of my favorite colleagues Ms. Kerrie Barree, the Collegiate Administrator at Wilmer Hutchins Collegiate Academy.
