Dear Families,

It looks like it's going to feel like fall next week. Is anyone else as excited as I am? Students would benefit from having a jacket or hoodies for recess. Our Lost & Found is already fairly full with these types of items. Feel free to come to the office to check it out if your child is missing anything.

Neihardt teachers look forward to meeting with you at parent-teacher conferences on October 7th and 8th. Check your child(ren)'s Friday Folder for sign-up information. Also in your Friday Folder is a flyer about our Kickoff Breakfast for Watch DOGS on Friday, September 27th. We hope dads and father figures can join us for donuts from 8:00 am to 8:25 am on Friday morning and then get signed up to spend a day with us at school.

We had a successful Spirit Day on Wednesday and raised $150.00 for the Nebraska Humane Society. Thank you for your generosity. Each month our Student Council hosts a Spirit Day to sponsor a different organization.

The Neihardt Spirit Wear orders have arrived. Check you child's backpack if you placed an order. We also have a couple items available for sale listed below. If you would like to purchase one of the items listed below, email Judy Kirst at jtkirst@mpsomaha.org.

It is time to sign up for the fall parent-teacher conferences. The window to sign up for conferences opens on Monday, September 23rd and closes Friday, October 2nd. Instructions for signing up are listed below. If you have any questions, please call the school office at 402-715-8360.

Conferences Dates:

Monday, October 7th from 3:45 pm - 8:05 pm

Tuesday, October 8th from 3:45 pm - 8:05 pm

On behalf of the PTO, we are asking for parents to donate pop, water, desserts, snacks, and paper products for parent teacher conferences. Please send all donations to the school office by Friday, October 4th. Thank you for your generosity.

Important information for 3rd - 5th grade parents

If during the online registration process for the 24-25 school year, you checked that you wanted to purchase the iPad Cooperative Loss Insurance for $15 for the school year to help cover possible damage to or loss of your student's assigned MPS iPad, but have not yet done so, the deadline date to pay is September 13th. After that date, your request for insurance will be deleted and you will need to start the process over by simply contacting the school office to request and pay for the insurance.

Payments may be sent now and after the 13th to the school office in cash or a check made payable to MPS.
