Term 3 Week 4
11 August 2023
Book Parade, Book Week and 3 way conferences
Gosh, it has been a really busy two weeks at school.
Thank you to all the parents who worked so hard to make sure their tamariki were wonderfully dressed to represent a book character for our Book Parade. It was lovely to see the students walking around with their Whanau, big buddies helping little buddies. This is exactly what we envisaged when we changed our year groupings to whanau groupings at the beginning of the year.
Mrs Wotton had been working away at getting all the parents through the Library for our Book Fair, and so far it looks like we will have approximately $2500 to spend on new books for the library thanks to all the books sales last week.
Another massive thank you to all the parents who stuck their heads into the staffroom to come and chat to our Board of Trustees. One of the vital jobs the Board does to ensure that the Community Aspirations for the akonga at our school are in place. Last week parents had an opportunity to comment on a number of suggestions. All this feedback will be taken into account and processed and parents can expect further feedback early in Term 4.
If you missed adding your feedback and would like and opportunity to do so please contact Whaea Michelle to make a time to view the comments and add your voice.
We have a large number of students out at various places this week, please can you make sure you know when students are going out, and pack lunches and ensure they have appropriate clothing. The wind outside is pretty chilly at the moment, so jumpers really are a must.
If you are missing clothing, remember that the lost property lives in boxes outside Room 2. These are constantly monitored and any named clothing is returned to the owners. I am constantly surprised at how many items simply are not named.
Ngā mihi
Michelle
