Week 4
Week 4: Password Changes, Viper Connect, & Labor Day!
A Message from Principal Thomas
A. STUDENT WEB-SECURTY: PASSWORD CHANGES
- To keep students safe online, passwords for all school accounts and devices are changed regularly.
- On Monday, students will receive a new password from their teacher. Students NOT on campus can receive their updated passwords by calling the front office and verifying their identity.
- Teachers will also be delivering a lesson reinforcing the need for students to protect their data online, and the types of messages to be suspicious of. The District remains committed to student and staff online security and will continue to provide training and support on cybersecurity best practices.
- Parents can reinforce responsible technology habits by reminding their children to avoid sharing personal information online, be cautious with unfamiliar email and links, and always "Report, Donβt Repost!" any inappropriate content. Please see this resource from the FTC called βKids and Computer Securityβ for additional tips.
B. STUDENT EXPERIENCE: CHOOSE VIPER CONNECT SESSIONS
- It is Critical that your students choose Viper Connect Sessions that suit their interests or needs.
- IF they don't choose their own session, they will be auto-placed somewhere, and often times they'll be placed somewhere they don't want to be.
C. LABOR DAY WEEK REMINDER
This week we will not have school on Friday OR the following Monday, for Labor Day.
D. SAFETY REMINDER: DON'T DROP-OFF ON INDIAN SCHOOL RD.
Please do not drop your students off in front of the school on Indian School Rd, near the steps and front of the building. While I know it is enticing, and the steps are deceptively welcoming, it is not a safe or legal drop off location and the road wasn't engineered to handle vehicles stopping out there, and it is a serious safety hazard.
