Term 2 Arrangements – Stay Tuned!
On Tuesday, an announcement was made by the state government about the new operating guidelines for very high caseloads, to be implemented in schools for Term 2. CEWA are currently working with WA Health about what these changes will mean for our community. Once I have clarity about the guidelines for the start of Term 2 I will update you accordingly.
COVID Self Reporting Portal
Over the upcoming school holiday period I encourage our families to continue to load positive COVID information into the Self Reporting Portal. This will allow me to have a clear picture, after the holidays, of who has been COVID positive and therefore, who are no longer able to be determined as close contacts or deemed susceptible to the virus. Parents and caregivers can inform the school of their child’s COVID result via this link
https://cewa-collections.powerappsportals.com/COVID-19-Self-Reporting-Form/
or on the school website.
Close Contacts
In line with new national guidelines, anyone who has recovered from COVID-19 is now exempt from being declared a close contact for the 12 weeks following their recovery – provided they do not have symptoms and are not immunocompromised. This means that any students or staff who have had COVID will not have to complete the seven days of isolation required of the close contacts of a positive case within those 12 weeks of having had COVID-19 themselves. More information on the current close contact requirements is also available at https://www.wa.gov.au/government/covid-19-coronavirus/covid-19-coronavirus-close-contacts.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
Parent/Teacher interviews will continue this week and next either online or over the phone. This is a chance to discuss the progress of your child/children and find out ways to assist in the learning process at home. The parent partnership is an important part of each child’s education and I encourage you to make the most of this opportunity.
Stations of the Cross
This year we will be holding our Stations of the Cross prayer reflection on Friday 8th April. Each class will be involved in preparing two stations and it will be held outside. The Stations of the Cross is a powerful way to contemplate, and enter into, the mystery of Jesus' gift of himself to us.
Easter Raffle
I would like to thank the P&F for organising the Easter Raffle this year. They have kindly donated 3 prizes per class which is amazing. Every student in the school will be included in the draw which will take place next Thursday 7th April (Wednesday 6th for Kindy). Good Luck!
First Day Term 2
Please be advised that Tuesday 26th April is Pupil Free Day. Staff will be involved in an RE Professional Day on Making Jesus Real. Stay tuned for more information! Therefore, Term 2 for students starts on Wednesday 27th April.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan

Year 6 Crochet Club
The Year 6 Crochet Club have been busy learning how to crochet under the guidance of Mrs O’Brien and Ms Maloney.
This is a wonderful craft activity and we are enjoying making a variety of small items such as hair scrunchies and amigurumi.
Our goal is to make items to sell at our kids for kids Market Day in Term 3. We would love your donations of any unused 8 ply wool you may have at home.
All the money we raise from our craft sales will go directly to the Flame of Love Orphanage in Africa to provide much needed supplies for the children there.

Project Compassion Update
Thank you to all those students who donated to the Project Compassion Giving Box in their classroom. The class who raised the most money in the third week of the competition was ... Year 6!
This is their second win and we congratulate them on their wonderful efforts.
There is only one week of the competition remaining so please give generously to Project Compassion and help Caritas with their important work throughout Australia and around the world.
