Methacton School District is partnering with Simon’s Heart to host a Free Youth Heart Screening on October 14, 2024. This event aims to identify and address potential heart conditions in individuals between the ages of 14 and 25.
Sudden cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death for young athletes, claiming thousands of lives each year. Through this free screening, Methacton and Simon’s Heart hope to provide early identification for these often-undetectable conditions.
EVENT DETAILS:
This event is open to individuals ages 14 to 25 only. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Date: Monday, October 14, 2024
- Time: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Location: Methacton High School Main Gym, 1001 Kriebel Mill Rd, Eagleville, PA 19403
- Pre-Registration Required: www.methacton.org/heart_screening
The comprehensive heart screening will involve four steps:
- Completing a brief medical history and consent form
- Blood pressure, height, and weight evaluation
- Heart examination and electrocardiogram (ECG)
- Echocardiogram for select students, if deemed necessary

2024-2025 Publicity Refusal Form - NEW PROCESS
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Photos, videotape footage and personal interviews with Methacton School District students are often used as part of the district’s community relations efforts and on the district’s website.
If you do not want photos, videotape footage or interviews featuring your child used in district publications, cable access television programming or on the website, please complete the form below.
Be advised that signing this form prevents intentional use of your child’s photo or videotape footage only. In situations where large groups of people are participating, it is often impossible not to photograph or videotape certain students, and therefore, we cannot prevent the use of photos or videotape footage that unintentionally includes your child.
Additionally, students that participate in school activities and/or athletics may be photographed or videotaped by members of the media or the general public while participating. It should be noted that under these circumstances, the Methacton School District Publicity Refusal Form would not be a valid means of preventing photographs or videotape of a specific student.
* Please note: Signing this form does not prevent your child’s photos from being included in MSD yearbooks. If you DO NOT want your child’s photo included in the yearbook, please notify your child’s school secretary.
If you have any questions, please contact Andrea Toaso, Communications Assistant, at (610) 489-5000, ext. 15098.

2024-2025 School Year Calendar at a Glance
The instructional calendar is approved by the Board of School Directors in the spring for the following school year. It is distributed to all families each year via email, and outlines days schools are in session, potential make-up days, etc. Find other events and activities for the coming school year on the district website calendar.
Kindergarten: Mrs. Raley's class getting ready for Kid Writing!
1st Grade: Mrs. Kennedy's class reading in small groups.
2nd Grade: Mrs. Szkaradnik's class showing and explaining subtraction equations.
3rd Grade: Ms. Kovach's class learning about adjectives and describing words.
4th Grade: Ms. Koerper's class working in small groups during ELA.
Specials Music: Ms. Stephen's class tapping along to the musical beats.
Mrs. Basalik and her 4th grade string students were all smiles for their lesson!
Student bussing
We highly recommend writing down your child’s bus number and attaching it to their backpack (luggage tags work great for this, you can find them at the dollar store). This will greatly assist students at dismissal time. Many students (even fourth graders), forget their bus number by the end of their first day. If you don’t have a tag, you can make one on paper with this template.

Watch Dogs Information
There are 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. ® program.
1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
WATCH D.O.G.S. ® (Dads Of Great Students) began in 1998 in a single school in Springdale, Arkansas and has since grown into a nationally recognized program that has brought hundreds of thousands of fathers and father figures into the school classrooms and hallways across the country, creating millions of hours of “in school” volunteer time and having a tremendously positive impact on the educational process.
If you are interested in becoming a WATCH D.O.G.S. volunteer, please refer to the following link with district information relative to volunteering.
If you are interested in serving as a Watch Dog Dad please email ihoff85@outlook.com or call the Arrowhead School Office at 610-489-5000 ext. 44200. Homeroom Parents Needed
Welcome families to the 2024-2025 school year! If you are a returning parent to the school, you are already familiar with the important role a Homeroom Parent plays in a child’s classroom. And if you are new family to Arrowhead, WELCOME!...below you will find a description of the Homeroom parent role.
Two to three parents are typically selected for each classroom. The primary role of these Homeroom Parents is to organize, plan, and execute the classroom parties throughout the school year. Kindergarten has five parties during the year (Fall, Winter, Valentine, Spring, and Fun Day), 1st and 2nd grades have four parties during the year (Fall, Winter, Spring and Fund Day), and 3rd and 4th grade have three parties during the year (Fall, Winter, and Funday/Class Picnic). The dates for these are below:
Fall- Thursday 10/31/2024
Winter -Friday 12/20/2024
Valentine (Kindergarten only)- Thursday 2/13/2025
Spring (Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd only)- Friday 4/11/2025
Fun Day-Friday 6/6/2025 with a rain date of Monday 6/9/2025
The fundamental duties of the Homeroom Parents are:
· Contact the class parents and solicit party helpers/volunteers
· Organize and plan food, crafts, and games for each part
· Coordinate all party activities with the teacher
· Actively lead the party by supervising the games and crafts
· Coordinate holiday and end-of-year teacher gifts
· Assist Home & School with obtaining volunteers during the year for specific events as needed
Serving Arrowhead as a Homeroom Parent is a very satisfying and fun way of helping the school and students. It not only provides the opportunity to make new friends, but to interact directly with the students. The children always look forward to their class parties, and we believe it is truly a privilege to be able to connect with the children in a fun and enjoyable environment. The joy and satisfaction you will reap from your efforts will far surpass the work which you will put into the position!
Please consider this opportunity to be involved in your child’s classroom. If you are motivated, organized, and enjoy working with children, this is the committee for you!
If you wish to join our team of Homeroom Parents, please email us no later than Friday September 20, 2024 with your students grade(s) and teacher(s).
Thank you and here’s to another great school year! The ASHA 2024-2025 Homeroom Parent Coordinators,
Laura Eisemann
(215) 353-1771
Jennifer MacGregor
(570)971-1454
Please email EISEMANN.LAURA1@GMAIL.COM and MACGREGORFAMILY725@GMAIL.COM with your child’s name, grade, and their teacher.
*** If you have more than one child at Arrowhead, please also specify whether you would be willing to help in your other child’s class***
Methacton School District Volunteer Clearances are also required for parents or guardians who wish to be homeroom parents. Information on MSD Volunteer Policy can be found at https://methacton.org/Pages/186
