ACT Prep Class at Lindbergh Lindbergh High School will be offering an ACT Prep class prior to the December ACT. This class is targeted for juniors and seniors. For additional information and to sign up, click on this link.
ASVAB Testing at LHS Lindbergh High School, along with the US Department of Defense, will be offering the ASVAB on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Lindbergh High School Multi-Purpose Room. The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is the military's career exploration assessment that is used to evaluate the skills and talents of individuals who are interested in entering the military. Taking the ASVAB does not imply that you will have to join the military upon graduation. Interested 10th,11th, and 12th graders can sign up here.
Why take the ASVAB?
The ASVAB is different from both the ACT and the SAT. The ACT and SAT measure achievement and are primarily used for college applications. The ASVAB measures aptitude and acquired skills which can be used to help predict future academic and occupational success. ASVAB scores thus give students insight into their options and aid them in planning their next step after high school.
1. | THE ASVAB CEP HELPS STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT THEIR STRENGTHS AND INTERESTS.
The ASVAB measures skills and strengths, which can improve over time. The subtests within ASVAB cover traditional subjects like math and English and other topics students might not have had exposure to, like mechanical comprehension and electronics information
2. | IT’S SO MUCH MORE THAN A TEST.
The ASVAB is just the first part of the ASVAB CEP. Career satisfaction is not only contingent on doing something you’re good at (aptitude), but also something you enjoy (interest). The ASVAB CEP is designed to help students determine both of these factors and explore occupations and career pathways.
3. | IT’S NOT JUST A MILITARY TEST.
Unlike other achievement tests, the ASVAB measures aptitude, or how well students have developed their skills, in addition to their potential for training. While the Department of Defense initially introduced the ASVAB as a predictor of trainability in military occupations, the test results showed applicability to ALL civilian and military career fields.
Architectural Photography at LHS - Monday, Sept. 30
One of the most fun parts of opening a new high school has been sharing this space with our community and beyond. On Monday, Sept. 30 Perkins and Will, the architects who designed the new high school, will be on site taking professional photos for use in their communication and presentation materials.
While the photos will focus on our building and learning spaces, some of the images will include students and/or teachers. As always, we will ensure that all students photographed have district media permission. However, since this is being used for a vendor, we wanted to make our families aware and also provide you with an additional opportunity to opt out for your child if you choose. No names or personally identifiable information will be shared, regardless of whether your student is photographed.
Perkins and Will is an architectural firm that specializes in designing schools. They understand that student learning comes first and foremost, and will make every effort to minimize the impact their team’s presence has on the school day.
If you do not wish for your child to be included in the photos next week, please reply to this email before Monday, Sept. 30, and include your student’s first and last name. (This is not necessary if your student already is a “No” for media permission.)
Thank you as always for your partnership and support.

Social-Emotional Screeners 2024-25
Lindbergh Schools will administer the Panorama social-emotional screener two times this year to students in grades 6-12. The upcoming screening window will begin on Oct. 1.
The building-wide social-emotional learning (SEL) screening survey serves two purposes:
SEL screening helps the district to evaluate the effectiveness of district-level mental health and social and emotional programming.
SEL screening helps identify areas of strengths and needs for individual students in grades 6-12.
Parents will have access to their child’s results.
More about Panorama Student Survey: Panorama is a 36-item student-rater screening tool. Students respond to computer-based questions aligned to social, academic, and emotional behaviors. This will be administered only in grades 6-12.
Click here to see the SEL topics and screening questions on the Panorama student survey tool. In order to learn more about student experiences at school, we will administer an online survey in October and March. The survey shouldn’t take more than 15-20 minutes to complete.
If you would like more information regarding the importance of SEL screening surveys or you would like to opt your child(ren) out of the 2024-25 Panorama survey, click here. You will need to complete an opt-out form for each child enrolled in the district.
