We are so eager to meet you on Monday June 5th! We have many exciting things planned for the two weeks of camp and it will be a fun and amazing experience for all.

Please remember that students need to bring their iPad fully charged every day as well as their ID badge.

We have also listed the field trip schedule below, so make sure to read all the way through for all the important information you need to prepare for Monday.

Monday through Thursdays. No camp on Fridays.

June 5th - June 15th

8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Attendance is expected ALL DAY every day for the duration of the camp.

However, we do realize that things happen and your child may need to be absent due to illness, appointments or family emergencies. In these cases, please let us know of the absence by calling the front office by 8 a.m.

If it becomes necessary for a student to leave during the day, all parents/guardians will go to the front door to ring the door bell, and the office staff will request the student to come to the front office. All persons checking students out early will be required to show ID to office personnel or the nurse - this is a safety precaution. If the check-out person's name is not listed on Skyward, he/she may not leave this campus with the child.

We really want to see your child(ren) every day and if there is anything that prevents him or her from attending, please let us know as well and we will do what we can to help.

Our theme this year is "Adventure Awaits. The camp will feature a combination of enrichment fun activities and middle school preparation. So many fun extracurricular activities have already being planned and we can't wait for your child to take part of it!

Camp Counselors will also focus on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) themes of Belonging, Curiosity, Friendship, Kindness, Confidence, Courage and Hope.

We will be welcoming all of our MyCamp 6 at Young Men's Leadership Academy (YMLA)!

Please make note that there will also be several other summer camps taking place at YMLA this summer as well. So many fun things happening at YMLA! And as a result you will see many other students and parents also dropping off and picking-up throughout the day. However, our campers will arrive and leave from Door 13.

Any questions, please feel free to contact us!

Car rider pick up and drop off is in the back of the school. Parents can drop off at Door 13 and loop around the back parking lot to exit.

Afternoon pick up is also at Door 13. Students will receive a car tag on the first day of camp. Make sure to have your car tag visible for pick up.

Bus riders will be dropped off and picked up at the front of the building.

ONLY students who have already been approved for bus transportation will need the following information:

Weekly MyCamp newsletters will be sent out to parents via email. Please keep a look out! There will be a lot of great information on what is happening with your student during the week. You will find updates, pictures, conversation starters, tips/ideas, field trip reminders and much more.

Every MyCamp 6th student will be provided with breakfast and lunch free of charge every day.

Please have your child(ren) bring with them everyday:

• Charged Ipad
• GPISD Student ID badge
• Water Bottle

GPISD dress code approved attire.

Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toed shoes such as tennis shoes.

Parents,

If needed, please plan to drop off any medication for your child on Monday, June 5. You will need to leave all medications with the camp nurse.

Campers will not be allowed to self-administer any medication; parents must provide instructions to the camp nurse on how to administer medications.

Any camper experiencing illness during MyCamp will be seen by the camp nurse. The camp nurse will contact parents regarding illnesses or injuries.

We look forward to providing our students with field trip experiences!

However, only students with a signed permission slip will be able to attend. An email was sent last week to all parents to complete. Please sign and email back. If you did not receive the email, please contact our school as soon as possible.

My Camp 6 must wear their My Camp 6 shirt on Field Trip days.

• Epic Waters Park (students will wear their My Camp t-shirt and pants over their swimsuit. They will also need an extra change of clothes)

Thursday June 8:

• Dallas Spark! (STEM students only)

Monday June 12:

• Perot Museum

Wednesday June 14:

• Cara Mia at SGP Theater (Fine Arts students only)

Thursday June 15:

• Camp water day (students will wear their My Camp t-shirt and pants over their swimsuit. They will also need an extra change of clothes)
