Grade 8 Researches People Who Have Changed the World
Our school library teamed up with Ms. Tanya at the Barrington Public Library for this project. Ms. Tanya put together a display and has been readily helping students locate and place holds on titles they are interested in reading.
In fact, to promote the strong relationship we hope to establish with the public library, I gave out raffle tickets to any eighth-graders who brought in a public library card or filled out a library card application. The raffle winner had their choice of a mini waffle maker or a local bookstore gift card.
Since this is a new project, I sent out a student feedback form to gauge where our collection gaps are. This helps us determine the biographies we need to purchase to better meet the needs of our learners going forward.
