Hello Wildcat Families!
We are down to the final week! We have many fun events planned for all of our Wildcats, especially our 8th graders!
Thank you parents for your help in making sure our students were ready for the state test! They did a great job. You should be receiving the testing information soon. I will also be sending information out this week about how to read the state test scores.
Please make sure to check out our events this week and don't for get:
MIN DAYS ARE WED, THURSDAY, AND FRIDAY. Students are dismissed at 12:45.
Have a great week!
8th Grade Promotion this Thursday
Hello 8th Grade Wildcat Families!
Promotion is Thursday, June 6th at 10 am. Please be sure to arrive in time to park (it will be crowded) and be in your seat no later than 9:45am. Procession will begin promptly at 10am.
Location: Promotion will again be celebrated on the Lower Field. There is virtually no shade cover, so sunscreen and hats are encouraged. You are welcome to bring umbrellas for extra sun protection, but you are asked to please sit or stand in the back so as to not obstruct the view of others also celebrating their student’s promotion. We invite you to bring water, but will also have water for sale in the lower field. Only Sullivan Middle School students will be allowed up on the upper/main campus before, during and after the Promotion ceremony.
Arrival: Students need to arrive by 8:30 am and report to the MPR.
Cell Phones: Student cell phones MUST be left with parent/guardian for safe keeping.
Dress Code: School dress code is required. No clothing with violent, drug/alcohol or political images. Jeans must be hole free. No strapless tops. Midriffs must be covered. High heels are allowed, but please be aware that the ground may be soft.
Attendees: Seating is limited; we are asking to keep invitees to 4 per promoting student.
Parking: Parking will be limited so please try to carpool as much as possible. Overflow parking will be located on campus grounds. Parking attendants will be present to direct traffic. Again, please allow for ample time to park and walk to the lower field.
Disabled Access: Please contact Linda Pipe, Office Manager (phone: 760-631-5209 or email linda.pipe@bonsallusd.com), if you will need assistance.
Dismissal: You are welcome to check your promoting 8th grader out after the ceremony and continue your celebration. We will have tables set up to make this a seamless experience.
We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of our students with you!
Spring School Climate Survey is extended!
Wildcat Families:
We are looking for feedback to help improve your school experience! We thank you and your family for being our valued partners as we work together to educate the children in our district. Over the next several weeks, we will be asking for students in grades 3-12 to reflect on their school experience and on their own mindsets and approaches to learning via an online questionnaire they will be completing at school. The questionnaire shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes to complete.
The questionnaire will ask students to self-reflect on Student Competency and Well-Being Measures (such as growth mindset and self-efficacy) and on Student Supports and Environment (such as school safety, sense of belonging, and school climate). The questions can be previewed here:
Students Grades 3-5: English here or in Spanish here.
Students Grades 6-12: English here or in Spanish here.
We are asking that all of our students participate, as their responses will provide invaluable insights into their experiences and how we can improve and adapt our district to their needs. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, they will be able to skip the item altogether. The responses to the individual questions will be completely confidential.
In addition, we are asking that our parents/guardians respond to questions about their experiences and perceptions of their child’s school. Your participation is completely confidential and anonymous, which means that no one at your school will ever see your individual responses. Please take your time to give honest and thoughtful answers.
You may use a computer, tablet, or smartphone to access the questions.
Please click the following link and enter the access code for your child's school: The questionnaire will be open from May 21- June 7.
