Happy New Year!
We hope that you have enjoyed a lovely winter break with your families and loved ones. We also hope that you are as excited as us about all of the hope, opportunity, joy, love, and success that 2025 has to offer!
Please be reminded that school begins at 8:30 am tomorrow, January 6, 2025. Students are considered late at 8:41 am.
Please read below as we have provided a few reminders for families in preparation for our return to school tomorrow.

Breakfast and Lunch Options (Monday only)
The shelf-stable lunch might include beef jerky, sunflower seed protein packs, dried cranberries, and or apple sauce. This is an example of a shelf-stable kit. The photo is an example, but meant to give you an idea of a shelf-stable lunch.
Please speak with your child about the food options that will be available tomorrow. Many students know that we typically have a hot and cold option every day, and are very disappointed to only have the shelf-stable offering.
You may always preview the menus at schoolcafe.com, or by visiting our main office.
The normal lunch menu will resume on Tuesday starting with breakfast.
If you choose to send your child with breakfast or lunch for tomorrow, please be reminded of our Healthy Food Policy:
-canned or bottled sodas, energy drinks, or drinks that contain added sugar will be held in the office until the end of the school day. Sparkling water or flavored sparkling water is okay. 100% juice is okay. Please no glass bottles.
-candy will be held in the main office until the end of the school day.
-PLEASE NO PEANUTS OR PEANUT PRODUCTS. Any student with a peanut butter or other peanut product will be asked to eat at a separate table due to our severe food allergies at Carver School.
-Carver staff is unable to accept DoorDash or UberEats orders for students. Thank you for continuing to observe our safety policy.
Many thanks for supporting our children's developing bodies and brains to remain healthy during our meal times at school.
Beacon is Back!
If your child attends our afterschool program, Beacon x Carver resumes tomorrow after-school. SafePassage van trips home will begin at 5:30pm. The program will close at 6:00 pm daily.
Students will be offered supper tomorrow during the afterschool program tomorrow, and every day.
Mark Your Calendars!
There will be NO School on the following dates:
Monday, January 20, 2025 - In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Wednesday, January 29, 2025 - In observance of Lunar New Year
Absent?
If your child will be absent, please call our school at (415) 330-1540 and speak to Mrs. White, our school secretary.
Please be reminded that one of our school goals is to decrease chronic absenteeism to less than 20%. This means we must average 80 (or more) students in attendance across our entire school. Please do your part to ensure that your child is counted in the 80% of students who are present and on time every day.
There are some fantastic incentives for families who achieve 80% attendance for an entire month, including raffles for grocery gift cards, student prizes from our school store, Friday celebrations with Joey and Principal Manning, and many more!
